Cato Realty Don Cato Suing me for pre-exsiting problems of a house that should be condemed Greensboro North Carolina
It started when we got our gas bill. I E-mailed Cato (cause we aren't allowed to call him) to tell him we aren't getting any heat in the house cause the house wasn't insulated and that the foundation was leacking into the mudd in the basement and it was feezing making the house like a ice box. I recieved a $406.00 gas bill waiting for him to send someone out. I finally bought eclectric heaters to stay warm cause it was 25 degrees in the house when it was 9 degrees outside and with the electric heater my elrctric bill was over $200.00. So finally I gave up waiting and called a Building Inspector( which really pist off Cato).
The basement would flood and rocks from the cement in between bricks of the foundation was all over the place just falling into the mud and all the mold and meldew, not to mention being sick all the time.Come to find out the duct work was not even hooked to the floor and it took him 8 months to fix that(with the Building Inspector's help). A Tree fell and broke due to termited so I E-mailed him about that cause it might fall on the house. He sends someone over to cut the tree and remove the wood and when they didn't remove the wood he tried to take me to court and sue me for $500.00(which I should have known that he was shady), and Saying that the small rocks in the basement is cats fecises(which is imbarhassing cause we don't live like that). and he's tried to sue me for $3500.00 for that.
He filed court papers saying that we violated the lease cause he told us to get rid of our cats but he filed the court papers then 2 days later he tells us to get rid of the cats. The judge just kicked everything out cause he didn't have a leg to stand on but that hasn't stopped him from filing more court papers to sue us for other reasons for violating the lease.
So If you ever rent from Don Cato( Very Bad Man) Make A Report With The BBB. The only way to at least slow him down. He Tries to Take Advanage Of Anyone he can. He Will Tie you up in court where people just pay him off just to get away from him.
