Shortly after Christmas 2002, a nice young man came to our door. He introduced himself and said he represented a new company in the area and was selling quality meats at wholesale prices.

He showed us a box of T-bone (flash frozen vacuum sealed) steaks that looked beautiful. He also showed us strip steaks, tenderloins and some other cut. Plus Burgers. The "low introductory" price for a box of this meat (24 pounds) was $321. BUT - if you buy today you get a second box of steaks and burgers free. Sounded good. The meat looked good. 48 pounds for a little over $300 isn't bad. We bought it. BAD IDEA.

On Christmas we invited friends for dinner. My husband and I had T-bones and our guests requested strip steaks. We cooked them as directed. They were so tough they were inedible. Plus they had absolutely no taste.

Since then I can assure you that we have tried all of the cuts and tried many different ways to prepare them. The result is always the same. BAD. Tough. Tasteless. The burgers are the best of the worst however you can always find a hard piece of gristle in each burger. Be careful, this little extra is very hard and has significant tooth breaking potential.

To add insult to injury - our neighbors bought the same "deal" - however, because they were balking at the price, they got the two boxes for $220! They say their meat sucks too. They've thrown their out.

I have emailed the company. They have ignored me. I

This is a warning. If anyone comes to your neighborhood selling Cattle House Meats from their truck - slam the door and hide your checkbook.

sound like the meat you bought was a pretenderized comerical grade of meat basically old dairy cow this meat is usda inspected and is packaged at 1 of several major packing houses in the usa the actual cost of these 6 packs is about $50 the burgers are usually 26%meat and 74%fat most of the tenderizers used will cause anyone with a heart problem to make there problem worse, there are companys that go around and suggest that they had orders cancelled or th ere boss told them to get ride of it cheap so people think they are geting a great deal! I know this because I used to sell this junk door to door superisingly about 1 out of 5 people love it because the tenderizor will make it fall apart in the grill of it is done properly. I felt guilty selling this stuff now I only sell preimuim choice and prime with a repeat customer base of 2 out of 3
