Complaint Review: Cayla Mieko Evans

Contracted to take photos at an event and send me all of the original unedited digital files.

She sent a couple dozen grainy, overcontrasted shots with her copyright rendering them unusable. When I asked about the original files I was given the runaround by her "assistant" and "co-owner" (alter egos?), who treated me belligerently and threatened me for continuing to contact them in an attempt to follow up on what was owed to me. 

Eventually (as a result of a bad Yelp review) Cayla "returned" and "fired" the rogue employee who supposedly intentionally sent bad photos in an attempt to sabotage her over a wage dispute.  The saga continued from there and included more fake "employees" that she had me interact with as I attempted to get my pictures. I ended up using Yelp to smoke her out again and get her to send me my pictures.  I still have no idea why she didn't just do the right thing from the very beginning, but it clearly shows her integrity (or lack thereof).  Photos are precious and irreplaceable--don't entrust your memories to someone that is crazy.
