I am re-financing my house, and my broker told me about this collection on my credit report from CBCS for 90.88. She originally financed me for my house, and there were no collection accounts on my credit at that time, so I called the collection agency. When I called of course they want your address, work info, and ph #, and I told them I was not going to give them that, when I didn't even know what I was being billed for. The first lady I spoke to wouldn't even tell me what the $90.88 charge was for, she just said that I needed to pay this today over the phone, and I asked her again I needed to know what this debt was for. Then she said I will mark the account that you refused to pay, and she hung up on me.

Then I called back, and the guy told me it was for Arch Wireless, which I guess is a pager company. I told him that I had never had a pager. He then told me I must have forgotten because I did in 99', I said I never even had a cell phone until 2001. I told him he needed to send me a copy of the contract that I signed with this Arch Wireless company, and he said they didn't have to fax me anything, because since they had my social that was proof enough that it was my account. Then he kept cutting me off telling me he wanted to update my profile, and wanting my work info. I kept telling him I wasn't going to give him my work information, and that I wanted to dispute the charge. He said there was no way to dispute it, I had to pay it. I told him I wasn't going to pay for anything that wasn't my debt, and he said that he didn't care if it was my debt I had to pay it, since it was under my name and social.

I got so mad I hung up. I called back and the another person refused to send me anything showing me my account info, or a contract I had with arch wireless again, and ended up hanging up on me. I cannot believe companies are able to get away from this, now my credit score is being hurt, due to something I didn't even do, and do one is willing to dispute this or do anything about it. I called my lawyer today and left him a message, maybe he can do something???
