Complaint Review: CBCS

CBCS PHONY COLLECTION COMPANY Ripoff NATIONAL Ohio

CBCS is a RIP OFF company using unintellegent people to call/harrass and supervisors are paid one penny more than the telemarketers drones!

I have rec'd calls on my CELL phone from an automatic dialer - for the last year - without ever stating my name or any personal comments simply telling me that the call is Urgent and I need to call them.

I never get an extension number - only a FIRST name and no account number to refer to. I understand from reading MULTIPLE internet COMPLAINTS that when you return the call, you are asked for YOUR PERSONAL ID and then they locate a deliquent billing on you.

Obviously there is a central billing agency that they refer to and can call up an old billing and whether its a current outstanding charge or not - really doesnt matter. They apparently get paid a percentage of whatever they bring in.

I have never given out my CELL PHONE number for contact so my first thought is that they call an automatic list with their automatic phones and just hope folks will return the calls and then provide the personal ID and there you are, finding yourself fighting a never ending battle with morons.

I reported them to DO NOT CALL a year ago - but never rec'd a response. If a REAL PERSON would call me, and ID what they are talking about, it would be one thing, but I believe the above is really their standard operating procedure! ***DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PLOY AND DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFO TO THIS PHONY COLLECTION COMPANY.***

Nancy, they are probably calling for the last person who had your number

Nancy,

Since they do not state your name in the messages, they are fishing. They are most likely looking for the person who had the number before you got it.

I have found that some cell carriers buy blocks of numbers that may have been listed landlines at one time.

They are fishing. Don't bite!

what i was saying by saying "having your privacy invaded" was basically there are victims of id theft every 2 seconds in the US this seems like a case of that how after seven years of her having the number thaey are just now contacting her you can ssay what you want about me but i know the facts and dont think it cant happen to you either yes we have all had bad experiences with collection agencies and ive worked with some serious blow hards who say what they want to people. i'm informing just like steve but from a different point of view so talk about my punctuation, spelling or whatever else but think about what i wrote.

Nancy, the DNC list does not apply, AND

#9Consumer Suggestion

Wed, November 01, 2006

Nancy,

The Do Not Call list does not apply to DEBT COLLECTORS. It only applies to TELEMARKETERS.

You can file a DNC violation complaint on this number and see other complaints at whocalled.us.

Always, upon first contact by a third party collector/debt buyer send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request as per your rights under the FDCPA.

Send this letter by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified # on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This is very important, so you can sue them when they violate your legal request. And they will!
It's an easy $1000.00!

Here is the website for CBCS, but they do not put any contact info on the site. They use an email form for contact, so go to a recruiting site and send your correspondence there.

You know a collection agency is unethical and illegal in the way they operate when they conceal their business contact info.

You can also file a police report for the illegal harassment and get the phone company to put a tap on your phone to provide the evidence for prosecution.

Natria please if you are drunk or otherwise please wait to submit a posting half of this doesn't make any sense. Punctuation it's an option!! I don't even know what you are trying to say esp. the part about ....how someone would feel about having their privacy invaded.... What are you trying to say exactly? Please spell check and proof read then re-submit because if you are an example of a past employee I think I can guess what caliber of people they hire to call and hassle people. Big vocabularies need not apply here.

i am an ex employee with advice to help you

#9UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, October 31, 2006

1.the reason you recive these calls on your cell is because the numbers have been investegated by the company they are trying to collect for. as a former employee we (collection agy) is blamed for this)

2. the reason you dont get an extention number is because it is a call center you will get a different person everytime. the id number is a number asigned to the acct in question so noone can just call in and know your financial business
if there is "delinquent" billing on you they will discuss it with you most of the time it is because someone moved before the final bill was sent and forgot to let the co in question know. it says nothing bad about you or your charater just your human and we forget from time to time.

3. you dont have to give out the number it appers on your credit along with your current and past adresses

4.they never see a percentage of they "bring in" the battle seems never ending because look at what people do; they hang up before an understanding is ever reached so the best thing is to cooperate and listen to the history of the bill then you will know weather or not it is yours

5.reporting a collection agy to do not call wont work unless you cooperate they will assume the debt is valid you the consumer have the burden of proof think about these three points if you provided some one service and the neglected to pay you how would you feel?
to say you dont want the money for your service is a lie

how would you feel if someone invaded your privacy and messed up your credit
you wouldnt know because you dont take the time to talk to them i'm not being nasty but your going to have to deal with them and you'll find it was easier the you thought

just use empathy yeah it's annoying but they dont want to call you either what kept me going was getting that person out of debt i sent a debtor 116.00 to get them out of collections so i totally understand how you feel also you have the right to refuse to give your info but at least give your first and last name so they can identify you and let you know why they are calling you
