Hey if you want to have some fun call this number (800-947-2987) for CBCS and tie up their phone bank. It is no less than they would do to you even if you don't owe any money.

Breifly: This company bought a 5 year old phone list of uncollected credit card bills and started making robo calls. The problem is, anybody with half a brain would realize that the first thing a person does when ducking out on bill collectors is to change their frickin phone number and the numbers on those lists get recycled.
Now you would think that these guys at CBCS would be interested enough in eliminating bad numbers from their base that they would at least keep their robo caller working. But nooooooo. And do they leave a call back number to straighten out their mistake? NOOOOOOOO.
I am the guy who got the recycled phone number. And these pin heads at CBCS robo called twice a day for two weeks. Finally I called the phone company and they said there was nothing I could do except *57 them three times and then call the State Attorney general. And oh by the way each *57 cost me bucks.

Isn't it wonderful what you can get written into law in this country if you have enough money to lobby congress. Let see:
Eliminate bankruptsy option for consumers.
Protect the rights of sleeze ball collection companies like CBCS to make harassing phone calls from outdated phone lists.

Protect the rights of these scum buckets to make mistakes.

Charge the customer for the ability to straighten the mess out.
Did I leave anything out?

Sounds like a win win for the collections agencys and the phone companys but not so good for customer. Only in America where you get the best laws money can buy.
When I finally got a hold of a number to call CBCS at, they hung up on me five times before I finally got through to a Supervisor to relay the problem and my complaint to them. In fact just asking for a supervisor triggers the goons on the phone bank to either hang up immediately or transfer you over to an endless "hold" that hey have set up on their internal switchboard. When I told them that I was out of pocket money just to let them know they were five years too late to collect anything; the supervisor was not appologetic in the least and told me flatly that they were not going to reimburse me for my expenses even though they had made the mistakes.

Well guess what bright and early Monday I am calling on the State Attorney Generals office. I am not naive enought to think that one complain will do much good but if enough complaints show up who knows?

And remember If you want to have some fun and you have some bile you would like to vent on some really rude people, please call CBCS at (800-947-2987)
Tough day at the office? call (800-947-2987)
Bad hair day? call (800-947-2987)
Commute got you down? call (800-947-2987)
Loney? call (800-947-2987)
Horney? call (800-947-2987)
Husband not supportive? call (800-947-2987)
Wife has uber PMS ? call (800-947-2987)
Doctor say you only have three weeks to live? call(800-947-2987)
CALL CALL CALL CALL CALL CALL CALL (800-947-2987)
In fact the only people I would not recommend calling these SLEEZE BALLS are people who owe money because that will only encourage them.

It is easy. Just pick up the phone and dial (800-947-2987)

someone will answer; and ask you how you got this number? Tell them you read it on a bathroom wall, or you have a wrong number, or just hang up, be creative and make up a real whopper then lay it on them. Remember these people have no ethics, so it is not like you are hurting someone. They are a big, sleezey, lying, filthy, greedy, collection agency. So have fun and CALL (800-947-2987). Strike a blow for freedom, liberty and the American way call (800-947-2987) and tie up their phone bank.
Thank you in advance.

CBCS is outrageous

First, to whomever asked the question of the original author - you know how old the debt is b/c they tell you when they call...that is of course, assuming they can get the date correct! I just received a phone call from CBCS, and jumped right online first thing to even see if it's a legitimate company - the woman couldn't decide whether the bill to which she was referring was from 2004 or 2005, and for various other reasons, I immediately thought "identity theft," while taking the call. Are they kidding, thinking we're just going to take their word for it, with no proof, not to mention their ignorant and belligerent attitude, and that on top of all this I'm going to willingly send them copies of personal identity documents, pieces of mail & my ssn? I have great credit, and if I owed PECO, I would've heard of it way b/f now. Since she can't decide what year she was talking about, I can't even properly dispute their claim - during the end of 2005 I had already moved, in which case the bill isn't mine. If she mean the end of 2004, that's total bullsh**, b/c PECO provided me with service up until I moved in August 2005. The woman said I should file a police report and send it to them as well- I'm not worried about a measly $200 & the police have more important things to do. Besides, I'd rather file a report about CBCS!

"im steamed" maybe if you would of told them it was a wrong number the 1st time they called, you wouldnt be writting on this website. Or better yet, when the collector calls they ask for a specific person, and if you didnt say this is him, or yes? then why would they call you an additional 10 times. When i used to work for the company we had to mark bad numbers with a B and good numbers with a G, so if i ever got a wrong number and the person does not live there i will mark it with a B - that eliminates wasting time calling BAD numbers and actually making more calls to legitimate debtors like YOURSELF.

By the way there is no "internal hold button" - you probably called so much that the whole call center knows that such and such with blank account number keeps playing on the phone, and we are told by our supervisors that if YOU call just hang up. Those that put you on your so called "internal hold" actually put you on hold because they dont feel like taking more calls. Judging by the length of your complaint you must have a lot of time on your hands so i guess you will have a ton of fun HARRASING cbcs. Good luck

Report the wrong number

Dear "I'm steamed":

Are you exaggerating at all? So you let them call you 10 times (two times a day for 5 days) without even calling them? Why didn't you call back the first day? By the way how could one compensate for calls made to you? I don't get paid for people who call my number with the wrong number. So I guess it shows you will be calling them to have "fun" with CBCS. In fact, I don't see how the AG could solve the problem if they told you they removed your number. Thank you for you consideration.

After reading some of the other reports for this company I am certain that what I experienced was standard operating procedure.
I am going to call MCI long distance Monday and tell them that I will no longer do business with them and the reason is directly related to their doing business with CBCS. This kind of abuse has to stop somewhere!
