As I scanned the Sun-Sentinel newspaper I came across an ad that read "Customer Service Manager Position" 3rd Largest Distributor. Entry Level Management Position, Will Train. $40k 1st Year Guaranteed plus benefits.
Being out of work this sounded like the perfect job!!! I went to the interview last week and was interviewed by Ken Wulwick, Vice President. When I walked in I was appalled at the stench of cigarette smoke INSIDE the office and the sound of blasting music in the waiting room. The waiting room was very small and somewhat dirty looking. The only signs on the outside of the building were signs that red "Now Hiring!!! Acquire within!!!
After a slew of questions fired at me in less than 10 minutes he instructed me to call back later that evening. When I did he congratulated me and said I made it to the second interview. I was so excited!! So when I showed up on Saturday I noticed 28 other applicants there for the "2nd interview" as well. This struck me as odd.
So, after waiting there for 45 minutes they finally called us in the back where we were seated in yet another very small room where Bob Coffey, President was our instructor for the next 4 hours. He proceeded to give us the history of purfume, the company, himself, the difference between an employee and employer, ect...... He also assured us that there would be no investment required and that this was not a MLM or "Pyramid Scheme" and that WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO SELL TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY. It was very motivating and inspiring. I bought it!!!!! I left a $20.00 deposit for a backgtound check and was excited to show up on Monday.
Monday comes and a slew of people are outside again and huddled in the small waiting room. After yet waiting another 45 minutes we finally get the show on the road. Bob Coffey, Chantel Coffey and Ken Wulwick pump us up full of motivatin, rah, rah, rah!!!! At the end of the day we are released at around 2:30pm and before letting us go they lay the big one on us.
THE CONTEST:
We must sell a minimum of 10 bottles of purfume to friends, family and associates. We would then be paid $75.00 WHAT!!!???
After going home I did a search of this company and found that CBK International, Inc. is NOT INCORPORATED IN FLORIDA EVEN THOUGH THEY USE INC. AT THE END OF THEIR NAME. Also, they are moving locations again even though they have only been at that location for 3 weeks!!!
BEWARE JOB SEEKEERS!!!! THIS IS PURFUME PEDDLING, NOT A TRUE MANAGEMENT POSITION!!! WHEN AND IF YOU DO GET YOUR OWN LOCATION AS PROMISED YOU WILL BE DOING THE SAME THING, HIRING PEOPLE WHO ANSWER CLASSIFIED ADS AND TELLING THEM THEY TO WILL BE MANAGERS BUT IN FACT THEY WILL JUST BE FREE LABOR TO YOU!!!

First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Earley Gaynor, I went through training a year and a half ago in middlesex, new jersey. When I first started I answered the ad just like everyone else. But unlike the other people that I started with, I stuck with it and I finished the program. When I started I was in Job Corp, I was broke and I had no plan in life. I went from job to job to job until finally I answered the ad, Donnie did my first interview and he gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. When I started I had to do some sales (just like everyone else) but instead of quitting, I had to work harder. Long story short I finished the program in ten weeks (two weeks shorter than my goal). I now run a location of my own in Lanham, Maryland, which means I am a promotion of Donnie and Holly's. I now do the same job that they do, I signed up to be a manager and that is exactly what I am. I didn't get in this to do sales (which no one does). Donnie told me that I could make 30K my first year in the first interview. But in my business in its first year, I made $82,000. I feel like I scammed Donnie. People who blow out in their first or second week obviously didn't understand the business. They give anyone, no matter what race,color,gender, or age, the same opportunity they gave me. Free merchandise, free training, (the day you have to pay for something should be a red flag for you no matter what business) and they also give you the opportunity to move to any state with a business for free. Like I said I went through training in New Jersey and I got the freedom to move to Maryland. Any person with a brain can look at all these negative letters and see that people run offices all over the country. So ask yourself, how did they get there? They got promoted there obviously. Running your own business isn't going to happen overnight, it takes more time and dedication to be successful in this and in any business. Anyone who says this is a pyramid scam or that you dont get promoted doesn't know what THE
F*** your talking about. Everyone has the exact same equal opportunity. All it takes to complete training is working hard( for yourself), dedication, and a little blind faith, believing that Donnie and Holly will get you open. I am so confident that I am going to leave my phone number (NOT FOR BLOWOUTS) but for people who actually want some advice on how to run a successful business for Scentura. 240-380-6157 or 240-330-7566. I can't thank you enough for exposing these sleazy, 21st century perfume/snake oil salesmen! I too had a "stinking" feeling about the place, its people and their whole "marketing" approach. I especially don't like being lied to when applying for a legitimate position in a company. Furthermore, I would never in a million years sell fake perfume to complete strangers in questionable places, never mind my beloved family, friends and neighbors!
Apparently this "company" has been around for years pulling off this scam, in various states and under various aliases . The parent company (Google Scentura Creations.com, Atlanta, GA) and their dirty henchmen have somehow managed to slip under the radar and get away with this! I do believe the only way to stop this unethical, cancerous growth is by getting to the mastermind - that is, Scentura themselves. They need to be chemo'ed, cut out and exposed once and for all for what they are - a fraudulent, quasi-Pyramid scheme operating under the guise of legitimate business. Why hasn't there been a full blown-out Federal investigation on this so-called "company"? How has this been allowed to continue for so long, hurting so many people, from all walks of life, without any (or little) repercussions on them?
Maybe there needs to be an "Erin Brokovich" to come along and do just that!
I hope this piece of information will help countless others.
