Comment Or Question Message: On 12/7/09 I brought my 1 year old IBM Lenovo laptop to Omar Shaaban, Owner of CBM Computers at 235 E. 3rd Ave., Suite 201 in San Mateo, CA, phone 650-638-0231. It was fully functional except that it had no sound and I wanted CBM Computers to install a more effective virus protection on it. It had no virus at that point. I thought there might be a switch turned off and I wanted him to find out why it had no sound. Otherwise, it was working perfectly. After one week, I called Omar and he informed me that the laptop needed a $300.00 motherboard. I told him I could not pay for that repair. I asked him to just install the virus protection and then I would pick it up. He informed me that it was not working now. I asked him to put it back the way it was when I brought it to him, to install the virus protection and I would pick it up. He said it was not working now after they tested it and he could not restore it without the new motherboard. I left se! veral more messages for Omar to fix the laptop. He had his young son, Malek, call me and almost demand that I pick up the laptop. I told him I would not until it was working. Now, I've left several more messages for Omar and he won't return my calls. I would like to be compensated for the loss of my IBM Lenovo laptop which cost me about $1400 about one year ago. I estimate it is worth between $700 and $900 now. That is what they are selling for now. Also, in addition to full compensation for the loss of my laptop, I would like the actual laptop back so I can destroy it to be certain no one can access my personal information and passwords stored on the hard drive.
