Cbradiostore.com Frank Dickey, Owner Rip off Scam Theft No response Internet
Ordered mounting bracket and cb coax for my truck from cbradiostore.com. Used paypal to pay, funds withdrawn promptly. Waited three days, and had not received any shipping notification nor have I received the items. Called the 1800 number for cbradiostore.com and was sent to a voicemail account so I left a message. Sent an email to support@cbradiostore.com. 24 hours later, I had not received a response. I sent a second email, and again I called with no answer, so i threatened to file a fraud charge with paypal If I did not receive a response within an additional 24 hours. Those 24 hours came and went, no response. Emailed them stating I had filed the charge after contacting Paypal and filing the theft report. I called and left a voicemail with their system notifying this as well, leaving my phone number and requesting a call back. Today, has been a full 7 days since I placed the order. I have called this business every half hour from when they supposedly opened (according to after hours recording on their 1800 number) totaling over a dozen calls. At no time throughout the day did anyone ever pick up. I have chosen all the options available, sales, shipping, accounting, and the operator. No answer, on any line, at any time today.
I used an internet whois tool to figure out the name and address of the person who registered the domain. I found the owner, and conducted a reverse internet search to get his home phone number. This number too - went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail there - stating that he needed to call me back promptly. As usual, I have not received a response.

They claim a death in the family, could be true, could not be true. To put it simply, they neglected to put any form of notice up to show they couldn't ship items once you send them the money via paypal. I can understand in a way - but in this day and age you never can be too careful.

I tracked down Frank Dickey's father. He was very nice and apologetic, seems there was a death in the family. My condolences goes out to Frank and his Father in this time. I've informed them that they can either wait and ship the item or just refund the money, whichever choice is easier for them in this time. I've notified them via email that once they let me know their decision I'll immediately remove the dispute with paypal and post a rebuttal here clearing their name.
Here's a point to ponder for this situation: There was no notification on the website that they weren't available for business. The automatic system took my money without a problem. There were no automated messages on their phone system notifying the consumer that they should expect to encounter delays, or that there was something wrong.
Attn: CBRADIOSTORE.COM - please take a moment to put a notice on the website and a 30 second recording on the phone system to say "Sorry, due to circumstances out of our control we are currently closed"
