I am concerned for my elderly 71 yr old father who activated the CCA First National Card @ 10/14/04 and perplexed how we can regain his losses and close this account? My dad became overwhelmed with debt leaving it difficult to consolidate his bills. He needed to pay expenses and since he is retired he thought that this card would assist him. He opened the account with a credit limit of $ 8500.00. I need help to solve this issue to resolve closing the account my dad activiated with CCA. I have already closed his present bank account for further withdrawal.

I became aware of this 1/12/04 he had activated this card
because I am helping him balance his bank account. I found that his bank account had a automatic withdrawal from CCA credit services twice on 1/2/04.

On 12/29/03 his bank account was deducted $99.00 for credit shield protection,12/29/03 $99.99 for Payment security guard finance charge,12/29/03. Total $199.99

When I asked him for the statement from CCA I saw that an additional expense of 12/29/03 annual fee $99.00, 12/29/03 19.99 for Rush processing fee were added giving him a balance of $118.00. Total expense this card has incurred $318.98 for service fees and my father has not purchased any merchandise with this card as yet.

I called the 800 760-4045 and it took me 30-45 min wait until customer rep picked up call. I conferenced call with my dad's permission and we requested for this to be cancelled and to have my father's account refunded. CCA informed me that my father did not contact service within 60 days and therefore would he would be responsible. They promised to supply a 199.99 voucher toward catalog expenses but did not include furniture items.

I was also told that they could not close account because my father had a 118.00 balance and this would not be closed until received. CCA customer rep instructed that a letter stating that there would be an additional $ 99.00 annual fee added to next January bill. My father sent a certified letter to close this account on 1/13/03 and fear that this may not be the end of the closure of this account and my dad may lose much!
Please help!!
