I received an unsolicited First National Card from CCA. They were very friendly when activating the card. They specifically asked for my permanent address although I am away at college. Twenty minutes after I activated the card, I decided that it wasn't a good idea to get any type of charge account/credit card and called the number that the representative had given me to cancel the card.

The "cancellation line" was a phone number to a non-CCA business. I also realized that I needed to give them my school address in order to correspond with them in a timely manner. I searched online to see if they had a customer service website and that is when I found Rip-off Report.com. I felt like such a sucker. Before I could get the card cancelled, CCA had already deducted the money from my account. I filed complaints with the BBB, and the post office.

A month after I activated the card, I received a call from a very rude CCA staff member who was accusing me of intentionally giving them the wrong address and was demanding to know what I told the Post Office. I told her that the only thing they could do for me was to issue me a refund. I didn't like her tone of voice so I hung up.

The Post Office was uncooperative after that and claimed that they didn't see how this was a case of mail fraud. In December, CCA called in response to my BBB complaint and said they were cancelling my account and issuing a full refund. I received my refund check last week and now I'm happy.
