In August of 2003 my wife signed up for a credit card from CCS. She found them in an e-mail she received and since we were having some money problems thought it would be a good way to help out.

In October I found out about the card and informed her of the real limitations of it and that it was a shopping card not a credit card. She had already paid the "one time fee" of $199.00 We discussed the card and she called to cancel, she was informed that they do not take cancelations over the phone (gee they sign you up over the phone). This call was made on 23 October, 2003. The next couple of days she wrote a letter and mailed it. That was that we are out $199 and a lesson learned OR SO WE THOUGHT!!!

I January CCS debited my wife's checking account, which had been closed for $29.00 , an annual membership fee. We again called the company and were informed that they had never received the letter and the fee was due.

I hnad my wife draft a letter and send it certified return receipt requested. Well we thought that was that. Today is 9 March aand we have received a bill for $44. $29, annual membership fee and $15 dollars late fee.

I talked to Heather at CCS and was told they never received the first letter and the money was due. I talked to a supervisor and was told it was our problem, we should have followed up on the letter we sent in October.
