I have actually contacted these companies, via email numerous times. I'd never found a telephone number for them until I came to this site. I sent my rebate claim form in within the 180 210 day window. I actually sent it off on the 182 day. It took a while to be received and entered into the computer. When it was finally entered into the system, there was a your rebate is currently being processed message.

I checked at the 8- week mark and the rebate was still being processed. I checked again at the 10-week and 12-week marks and the rebates were still processing. It shouldn't take that long for anything to process. I used the customer service form to email the company to see if anything was wrong and got a generic reply stating that my rebate was currently being processed and would be shipped as soon as it was ready. I said okay, I guess their backed up so I'll give them another couple of weeks.

Well about 2 or 3 weeks later (this would be the 15th-16th week after submitting my form), I checked again and the status still hadn't changed. I started getting frustrated because if I had correctly submitted in my claim on time, then they should correctly return my check on time. I emailed them via their online form again to see if there was anything wrong with my claims as to why they were taking so long to be processed. My reply was the same generic message I'd received before, your rebate is currently being processed.

I replied to and sent them a direct message asking what the hold up was and if there was a problem with the rebate claim forms. I received a message saying, no problems, we're just processing and you should receive your rebate within 10-12 weeks. Was I upset, I had just waited over 18-20 weeks and now they were telling me another 10-12? About a week later, I checked the status of both of my claims and estimated date had been changed to July, 21, 2006. I was a little upset considering I had to wait another month, but I was relieved to finally have a date.

I haven't received my refunds so I checked the rebate status today and got a message saying:

We are currently unable to approve your rebate for the reason listed below.

InPhonic is reprocessing your submission with a new service provider and will contact you with further information regarding your rebate request. You will receive a letter or postcard describing this problem. The letter or postcard may have instructions on how to correct this error.

That's really messed up. Not only have I not received any postcard or notification of a problem, but I turned in my rebate perfect, I even made copies of all the stuff I sent in and the date I sent it. There are no problems. I feel like they are just going to keep giving me the run around and eventually they'll start telling me there's a problem with this and a problem with that. I started looking around and noticed that I'm not the only one with a problem like this. Apparently, this company has a history of cheating customers. I have emailed both rebatestatus.com and cellularchoices.net regarding this situation.

Don't wait! Please take action. We are too kind-hearted and gave them too much credit, hope and trust. You are not alone -- we were all tricked by them before.

Please take the following action:
email Jon Delahay, office of president jdelahay@inphonic.com and ask for speeding up the process. I complained to him and got a message stating "you checks are included in the next check run which is set to go out in 5-10 business days". Well, I will see what happened in the next 5-10 days.
