Cellular One advertises clear calls and great service. I signed a contract for 18 months with them after talking to the sales representative in their local office in North Platte, NE.

During the first 6 months I had dropped calls, horribles static, wasn't able to receive or make calls in areas, echoes, and other problems.

I called only twice to complain and was told that everything was fine with their signals. I realized it was useless to call in a complaint because nothing ever was done.

After dealing with these problems for 6 months, I decided to cancel my contract and go with another carrier. I was charged a $400 cancellation fee (I had 2 phones on the plan) because I cancelled before my contract was up.

I disputed the charge because they did not provide the quality of service they promised. I sent them a letter disputing the charge as the contract stated to do. I would call each week to see if a decission had been made and I got conflicting stories each time, including them saying my letter wasn't received. I faxed a copy of it to them and that evening they called me.

I was told that I would still owe the $400 because I didn't call in to complain more than two times and that I used lots of minutes on the phones. Well when you depend on the use of the phone you have to just deal with the quality even though it's bad. I got them because I needed to use them, what was I supposed to do. Not use them because of the bad service.

I was keeping my agreement and paying my bills but they weren't keeping their agreement for quality service. Why would a person have the service and not use it no matter how bad it was. I don't agree that I should be made to pay this $400 but they say I have to.

I hope that everyone that uses Cellular One and has horrbile quality as I did complains about it.

I now am with another company that has crystal clear service, Cellular One should take lessons from them.
