CenPac Realty, Inc Fraud, buying time shares Los Angeles California
Cen Pac Realty, Inc contacted me about buying my Mayan Resort timeshare. The Broker, Ronald W Barnes said that he had a buyer (corporation) that was buying this for employee incentives. They would be handling the transaction through AfterMarket Escros, Monica Gupta. After we agreed to the terms and sign the contract AME would deposit the funds into the account of my choice. Within 5 days I would notarized and return the documents. AME would then pay CenPac Realty, Inc their 8% commission and pay Mayan direclty for the $5,100 transfer fee along with my notarized transfer letter.
I'm not completly sure of the scam, but what I do know for a fact is that Ronald W Barnes, California state license # 01731311 is NOT the broker that I was talking to. I have confirmed this with him.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. They were not asking for any money from me up front, it seemed like a no lose situation. They would give me the money, they would pay the commission out of the proceeds. etc. I believe the scam is that I would have transferred my ownership to someone and I would have received nothing for the deal. Maybe this CenPac Realty would keep all the proceeds, scam me but deliver the product to their "client".
Whatever the scam, stay away from these people and always always do your homework, if you feel like you have checked everything out, check more.

I was told that they had 35 contracts for the Mayan that they were working on with one buyers. They would do an International transfer of funds into my account. AME would hold out the 8% comission and within 5 days I would notarize and sign the documents to include the transfer of ownership form required by the Mayan at which time they send that along with the required transfer fee of $5115.
I have contacted the Mayan regarding this as well and I just want all Mayan owners to be aware. I really needed to sell my ownership and this sounded like a deal that I could not lose on as I wasn't required to put any money upfront.
I have also tried to contact the above mentioned businesses as well to let them know. I was able to speak with Ronald W Barnes from Hollywood and he is contacing the department of licensing to protect his license.

Someone using the name CenPac Realty, Inc and AfterMarket Escrow contacted me. These people had different contact informaiton than the "real" companies that are registered with the California Department of Licensing.
