Colopure advertises a free trial offer for a product (for $1+$4.95 for shipping); however, it is not a free trial of the product but rather a short "trial period" in which the product must be returned in a few days or your credit card will be charged for $38.95. Then without your knowledge you are signed up for their "reorder program" and within another couple of weeks your credit card is charged $44.90, but the product will not be sent out for two weeks. Trying to stop all this is a nightmare.

There is no place on the original order form that states the charges that I have just explained. Company explains that by clicking to order the free trial you have given your permission for the "reorder program" and that you should have clicked on the tiny little "terms and conditions" button at the bottom. If you notice, the bottom also says in very faint letters that the "testimonials" are pictures of actors. Interesting too, the address given for Phoenix is spelled Phoneix, I suppose meaning Phon-e.

Bottom line is the whole thing is a scam to get a card number from you and that you will be charged fraudulently and without your permission. Even the sales receipt says "Colopure $1 Trial Offer (1 Month Supply-60 Capsules) $1.00. Deceptive advertising, scam, bait and switch, greed, and fraudulent are some words I would use to describe this manner of doing business. Please be aware of these deceptive practices.

I have written a letter to my State Office of Attorney General and explained this scam. I asked for legislation to require several clicks on these "free trial" offer web sites so the consumer will know exactly what they are agreeing to. I am going to my bank today to follow the advice and steps this web site has recommended. Thank you so much for that!
