Central Electronics Plus.com Scam nipped in the bud City Of Industry California
Centralelectronicsplus.com is advertising super-low prices on I-phones computers and a whole host of electronic gadgetry. They have a minimum order amount of $600 and want the funds to be wired overseas - to Italy they claim. Wire your money overseas and kiss it goodbye.
16046 Kaplan Avenue in City of Industry, CA is NOT their address - that is the address of Lilliput Electronics USA and CarlCB.net - both apparently are legitimate businesses. I called the secretary at Lilliput Electronics USA and she said they are aware that an unknown entity has hijacked their street address and is displaying it as their own. She stated that they have no connection to centralelectronicsplus.com.
The website has been up for less than a month - a Whois search revealed a private domain registered on 11/4/08 with a registrar in Malaysia.
The "About Us" tab on the centralelectronicsplus.com website has a lot of nice sounding words and phrases strung together by someone who is obviously a foreigner, but really says nothing at all about them.
The centralelectronicsplus.com website shows a Merchant Seal of Approval from GlobalSecureTrust.org. I checked this out too - for just under $50.00/year, anybody can license the use of their logos with minimal hassle and provenance requirements. If you have a dispute with a GlobalSecureTrust.org client they state they will attempt to mediate the dispute if the aggrieved party has already made attempts to resolve the dispute with the merchant, BUT, they have no power to do anything other than suggest their client merchant resove the dispute. A GlobalSecureTrust.org logo is just window dressing - nothing else.
I hope Jerry Brown can get this business investigated and shut down before the whole California government gets shut down by their $11 billion plus deficit.
Hopefully the 15 minutes I spent writing this helps a few people hang onto their money.
