Central Florida Financial HUGE SCAM - THEY WILL JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN - THE WEBSITE DOESNT EXIST Clearwater Florida
Someone I know got a call from Central Florida Financial promising that they will help with their credit. They promised to send a merchant credit card that would give you a $10k limit on a online merchant website account. They said that it would significantly increase your credit score based on the fact that they could approve you instantly.
Having bad credit was not an issue apparently. The person that answered the phone apparently was very convincing and offered the following:
1) 4 - $100 gift cards towards anything any item on the merchant catalog.
2) $10,000 credit limit
3) 35% Discount on all items on the catalog
All you had to do was give them a $300 deposit which they would gladly do an automatic withdrawal from their checking account.
Then they would actually send you a very nice thick catalog w/ the 4 $100 gift cards. When you would actually try to access the website it no longer existed. The 800 number is now disconnected and this person is out $300.
Apparently my friend is not the first victim. There are others out there. If you see a transaction on your account that has the following: www.Cenflfin.Com on it, you may want to call your bank asap. I'm also reading about another person who had recurring charges from this same merchant. If you see this company on any of your bank statements you may just want to close down your account and reopen a new one. A simply stop payment will not fix a recurring automatic withdrawal since most banks can only stop payments on specific amounts. All the fradulent merchant needs to do is change the dollar amount and they can just drain your bank account with charges you will probably overlook.
