My husband recieved a phone call today from a heavy accented pakastani or india man claiming that we took out a payday loan on the internet and we defaulted on the loan.  He left a message screaming into the phone claiming if we don't call them back they will press criminal charges and an investigator will show up at our door to arrest him and that he has violated the law and can be charged with 3 felonies.  My husband called the number that they left which was 202-379-1940.

They answered the phone Central Investigation, they also stated that the phone call was being recorded by the federal government when my husband asked for information the man got irate and said we have your social security number, your address, your bank name and account number (which they did which is VERY scary) they could not provide dates they had NOTHING when my husband pressed him for information they hung up on him, he called back they hung up on him again, he called back and they hung up again all the while saying they could make this go away for $495 and they wanted his credit card info. He GAVE them nothing.

I called my bank and they called this person and got nowhere but told him if he tried to access our account they would file charges.  My husband recently filed for bankruptcy and contacted our lawyer who said to call them and give them your case number and our phone number.  My husband called them back and suddenly the tune had changed and in the thick foreign accent said that it was cancelled.  I now have to close my account fearing they could access it at anytime.  I am also contacting local law enforcement, the FTC and the BBB, my local news and any other place I can contact till this is stopped.  I will not stop till this person is exposed and put away.

This is NOT okay and everyone needs to be aware and be careful, this person has all my husbands personal information.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!
