I was trying to purchase a Canon Digital Rebel Xti. I compared prices on Shopcart.com and Century 21 was the lowest and also had a 5 star rating (which also turned out to be a scam).

These folks try to suck you in with low price and then email you and tell you you have to call to confirm your order. Then when you won't purchase a bunch of extras, they tell you you have to purchase the battery and warranty separately. He then told me it would take 6 weeks to ship. I asked if it was grey market because new cameras always have a warranty. Then he got hostile.

I cancelled the order and told him I was going to report him and he laughed. Now this part I don't have actual proof for but within a day or two of this experience someone tried to fraudulently purchase an Airline Ticket to FRANCE on the debit card I used!!

Fortunately the bank called to confirm the purchase and I was able to prevent it from going through. But of course the debit card had to be cancelled and re-issued. So in the end they got nothing from me, but it was a pain!

I called Canon and reported them and they confirmed that Century 21 Electronics is NOT an authorized Canon Dealer. So if you've been ripped by these guys, make sure to call Canon too!
