Century Sales And Service Cook Sheds Comitted fraud and Breach of Contract Lucedale, Mississippi
In the past I had been a very satisfied coustomer of Cook Portable Buildings. I decided to make a 2nd purchase and was given written quotes on different buildings. A few days latter I went and made purchase arraingements on one that I made a decsion on.
I filled out a committment(Contract) form for the usual particulars that I wanted with this shed. I was given a signed copy of amount, monthly note qoute and I placed a deposit, which was cashed after about 3 days afterwards.
A week later, My shed arrived and set in place, then was given another form to sign for delivery. This form showed a difference of $85.00 more a month. Instead of my my signed agreement of $111.00 a month, it showed $195.00 a month.
After phone calls were made, I was told the dealer had made a mistake and crossed out agreed upon amount and changed. I was also told, the Dealer had contacted me and had received my ok. Neither of these are true. I have phone logs to prove I was never called by anyone but the Building factory yard until a Friday before delivery on Monday to make arraingements for delivery.
After trying to rectify the problem with Cook Main Offices, I was basically told tough luck, even though fraud and breach of Contract has occurred. They offered what they called a delapidated used shed for about $20.00 a month higher than my agreement and basically offer no warranty.
I have asked for my deposit back and they have the nerve to say I refused the shed they deilvered.
So My purpurse is to fore-warn people to be careful with dealing with this Company. They now tell me they don't stand behind their dealers actions and it might be possible I changed the agreement, even though the dealer admitted to me she did make the change without my knowledge and submitted it.
