Complaint Review: Certegy Verify Credit Card Service

Certegy Verify Credit Card Service autorized three credit cards . All were stolen by the same person and they sued me for them. Alpharetta Georgia

I am a merchant for Visa crdit card. They use Certegy to process there cards . I called and had the first Visa card approved . In the next two months I have two more sales to the same customer.

The first sale was a large sale so I called my bank before I shipped the good to make sure the card was ok and the money was in my bank. My bank said everything was ok so I shipped it. A few weeks later thesame person placed another order. I went trough the same process. I verified and recieved a autorization numer for the next two orders.

Two (2) months later I am told by my bank that I may have a charge back on a credit card If I didn't fax in the information to this fax number so I did .

I told the Denis at the bank that I had made two more sale to this customer and her answer was they haven't come back yet. I told her if thefirst one came back the others were probly bad also. But she didn't check until 8 eight days later .Then she tells me I have no choice but to come to the bank and take out a loan to pay the money back.

The company Certegy new the first card before the 28 of the same month I made the sale.Certegy didn't not call me or the bank call me .

My Bank Has sued me .They have a judgement against me and are trying to take my bussiness and my home. Certegy sent infore mation to my bank that they did not pass on in time for me to do anything with. I have made them a offer the bank. But I need someone who can take on Visa ,Certegy

Your post is rather difficult to follow.

How is Certegy responsible?

First of all... Any bank that you already do business with that tells you that you have no choice but to take out a loan with them is sketchy.  You're free to go to any one or any number of institutions for loans.  When doing any check, credit, or debit transactions with anyone, you always run the risk that the customer might not make good. When they do this with checks, it's referred to as a few things.. passing bad checks/deceptive practice/hot checks. On credit and debit transactions are typically payment reversals. This means that the payment was typically initiated by the customer, and later recalled, for whatever reason. 

So, this leads me to believe that some important information is missing from this post...  because it really sounds to me like you want to blame Visa and Certegy for something that a customer did. Could you possibly clarify?  What was the reason for the charge back and what was the reason for the fax?

Regardless, whenever a check, credit, or debit transaction is accepted and complete, a merchant is taking responsibility. Even if a customer stiffed you, you are still responsible for making sure that a bank receives their payments.
