HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with Travel Vanlines aka Certified Relocations aka Certified Vanlines!!  Intimidating gansters and thugs!!!  This is a shady company. but the most pleasant and convincing when they took my deposit. Now I cant get anyone on the phone.

I moved from Connecticut down to Florida in January. Travel Vanlines of course beat my lowest quote and was very pleasant to at first. But my final bill was close to double the quote, and still havent been explained why, and still no compensation for all of my damages. They intentionally underquote you to get you in the door. Then they hostage your furniture and demand what they want (and they will take it all).

When I received my quote, I asked about how the items would be insured and the sales rep told me the items would be covered at their full value.  But when the movers arrived everything changed, they handed me a contract to sign that said they would only pay me 60 cents/pound on the weight of an item, and a handed me a bill almost double my original quote.  At that point, I had no choice, and they promised it would be worked out later.  I had to move out, but it was a classic bait and switch.

Other lies the sales rep told me were: the company is over 7 years old (it's actually less than 1 years), (it is not). But actually I learned that in many cases moving companies re-invent themselves to hide their criminal past. Well Travel Vanlines is one those newly reinvented thugs. They dont even have a physical office in N.Y.! They are working out of the same office New Jersey with a company called Certified Relocations, and guess what, Certified are thugs re-inventing themselves too !!!! They was once called Certified Vanlines who was actually shut down for the most notorious acts against customers. Is this all legal????

When I received my quote, I was told the ETA would be 5-7 days after move out.  Again, the movers changed it on move day and told me up to 14 days. I was stuck and truly violated. After I arrived in Florida and repeated calls, I  find out that they had my things for two weeks and my items had not even left their facility.  Three weeks after my move this is what I received:

An antique standing lamp was smashed and completed broken.  Estimated value of  at least $1,000. My sofa looked to be intentionally slashed across the seams and crippled on one side. My damged dryer now has electrical problems will need to be solved and the framework reconstructed. Will have to get an estimate. My bed will have to be cleaned and inspected for an estimate to repair the damage.

Original cost  over $4,000. Book cases were broke and the backing damaged. I had five book cases and most were taken apart and nothing was put back together. Two coffee tables were damaged; one coffee table is split and another coffee table is not safely able to stay together. One of the coffee tables is an antique and had an estimated value of $500, the other had an estimated value of $250. I photo everything.

Their so-called claim department is just as confused as to who to bill. Thats how I learned of the 3 current different names for this company. I am in the middle of a run around. But after hiring an attorney, we now have a new direction with the department of transportation. These people have to be stopped. Buyer beware. If you ever heard of a nightmare moving company, then this it. Dont bother with Travel Vanlines, or Certified Relocation, or Certified Vanlines, or who ever they will become later.  (photos attached)

I had a TERRIBLE experience too..

Worst experience ever. I needed to move a small 2 bedroom house to an apartment. The move was about 15 miles. I have an expensive piano and I asked them if they were experienced in moving pianos. They informed me that it would not be a problem. On the day of the move I told them the piano was the most important item and needed to be treated with extra care. They said no problem. They only used one strap in the truck and when they took a turn the piano broke through the straps and landed on my studio desk obliterating it. The piano suffered extensive damage including a cracked sound board (devaluing it in the worst way). They fall also smashed a huge mirror that was attached to bedroom furniture.

They told me we were only going 15 miles so I didn't need to get the expensive insurance and to just sign off on the cheaper insurance.

I didn't flip out on the movers.. I truly don't believe that they wanted that to happen.. in fact I tipped the 3 of them.. 20%. All I asked them was to make sure they reported this and helped get my piano fixed.

It was nearly impossible to get any type of response from the moving company and they didn't even refund me the extra money I paid for the piano move. They referred me to a BS website where I would get virtually nothing back AND they would take the piano because it was considered a "loss". They told me the studio desk would not be covered because it was made of particle board.. I said "it would have been fine if you HADN'T DROPPED A PIANO ON IT".

The reviews of the terrible company are accurate. They are a terribly company who will take your money and run.

NICE TRY "ARNIE". AN EMPLOYEE OF THE OWNER? IN ANY CASE, I CANNOT DENY ANY ONE MAY HAVE HAD A PLEASANT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY. I AM REPORTING HOW THEY RIPPED ME OFF!! IT WAS MY OWN INDEPENDENT RESEARCH TO LEARN OF THE OTHER COMPANIES OWNED BY THIS SAME MAN, AND THE EXTREME AMOUNT OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. AND HE WAS RIGHT, IT COST ME MORE IN LEGAL COST, ANGUISH, AND VALUED TIME TO RECOVER MY LOSES. RIP OFF AT IT'S BEST. SORRY, ARNIE, MY REPORT STANDS. IF YOU WISH TO HONOR YOUR BOSSES COMPANY, THEN DONT DO SO BY HIDING BEHIND A "HAPPY CUSTOMER" LIE. HONOR YOUR COMPANY BY PAYING THE DAMAGES YOU GUYS CAUSE IN ALL OF THE LIVES THAT TRUSTED YOU. AND I DONT HAVE A CLUE WHERE EMPLOYEE REBUTTALS CURSING YOUR COMPANY CAME FROM, BUT IT SEEMS TO VALIDATE THAT YOU HAVE THE MOST HERENDOUS COMPANY TO USE OR WORK FOR.

They moved me from NY to FL and they dis an amazing job.  The sales rep actual asked me to make sure to ask them question regarding the reviews on line as reviews on line can be real and also can be fake. Works both ways.  I had an great experience with them.  The inventory was taken over the phone and I was told" MAKE SURE TO CALL ME A FEW DAYS BEFORE TO GO OVER WHAT YOU HAVE SO THERE WILL BE NO SURPRISES."    That's what I did and let me tell ou i only got charged additional for service that I reuquested last minute packing of my TV. Also I added a few more boxes so of course I got charged for that.

Excellent crew , Excellent sales , Ans Excellent customer service will recommend in a Heartbeat.  The saying is true"; THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY"

THANKS AGAIN FOR A JOB WELL DONE

BOGUS CLAIM - NO SUCH CUSTOMER!!

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, February 27, 2012

This complaint is completely FALSE!  We have never serviced this customer within our company, nor do they exist within our database at Certified Relocations Inc. past or present.

It is a sad fact that competitors within our own business will try and mar the integrity of a good and honest company by slandering our good name with FALSE claims and reports!  This is bad business for all and we will not tolerate such a cowardly practice.

We take great pride in our excellent reputation by ensuring that our REAL customers receive the very best service we can provide.  It is our company policy to address any and all issues that may arise professionally and promptly.  We have a long history of numerous satisfied REAL customers and invite the person who created this libelous report to provide proof of their claim.
