Complaint Review: Chaiyo Thai Bistro

Chaiyo Thai Bistro at 14800 S Military Trail, Delray beach, Florida - Southeast corner of Military Trail and Atlantic Blvd. 561-499-8572

My cousin was in town from New York to buy a condo - myself and her and her agent were very hungry after a day of looking at condos on Saturday August 24th. I dined at this restaurant about two years ago and thought it had good food. We went there. The restaurant was moderatly crowded for dinner, we all liked our dishes. The entire bill came to $56 and change. My cousin was paying for herself and the agent Marilyn and i was paying for my own portion of the bill. So we had the waitress give us two separate checks, one for my cousin and one for me,

My cousin had given a $5,00 tip with her payment, i had given a $2.00 tip with my payment. Total tip given was $7.00. our waitress came back to our table with the money and rudely told us that the tip amount was not 15% and she required tip to be a minimum of 15%. My cousin proceeded to give waitress an additional $2,00 although we questioned why they needed it waitress merely repeated they need 15% tip,

I dont think they have the right to demand that from us we paid entire bill. We three were very embarassed and felt abused. I will report this business establishment to the Department of Corporations State of Florida for conducting what I believe to be an illegal business practice. Also the Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend dining at this restaurant due to their cruel and mean attitude towards customers.
