We originally talked to Leo Florin the salesman about getting a pool in our house. After coming to the final figures, size and shape of the pool and spa; Leo took that copy with him and left us with a recipt. Four weeks later we go to the company to pick our colors for the bricks and pool itself, we find out that the pool is not the size promised, the spa is not what we paid for. When we bring this to the managers attention he was VERY unhelpfull and eventually asked us to leave his office. Since the begining of March till this day they have been giving us the the run around of who to talk to and that they would straighten out the problem.

They DO NOT return phone calls, answer emails or respond to faxes. Very unethical company! In a capitalist system where comsumer rights is protected and considered by the company who opperates in the United States. This type of company shouldn't be allowed to operate in the U.S. where the consumers right is protected by the law.

Worst in the Pool Industry

I would suggest that anyone having trouble with this company to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.

We have just done it. Our pool was started in September of 2005. This was after we had signed a contract in May of that same year. Our pool was started and left for about a month or two with just the rebar and no shell. During that time the wall behind collapsed. We brought this to the attention of Tony and told him of our concerns about the deck. We were assured that the repair to the walls would be made before the shell was put in. Their repair when they put in the shell was to place cardboard behind the rebar. Not long after the pool was completed, which by the way was not until February/March of 2006, we noticed the deck sagging in areas. Of course their response was "it's normal to have some settling". Well here we are in 2011 and the entire area that had collapsed prior to the shell being installed has sunk. In one area exposing a hole that is about 2 - 3 foot deep where a paver has fallen through.

There were numerous other problems with the construction, this however has become the most serious as it poses a safety risk to my family as well as anyone who comes onto our property.

I would implore all of you, to file a complaint with the BBB.

Did the Atty. General ever do anything about Challenger?

Challenger built my pool in west palm beach in 1997 or 1998. It has never been right. We have had nothing but problems from day one. We have been told most of these are due to the pool being filled with untreated well water and just plain shoddy work. To this day the main drain pipes have never been capped off as they were supposed to be. Had to replace the entire deck because it collapsed. I was contacted several years back about the atty. general taking some type of action but haven't heard anything in quite sometime.

FINALLY GOING TO COURT AFTER 4 YEARS - CHALLENGER POOLS OF TAMPA IS THE WORST!!!

Please contact me if you wish to take part in this case against Challenger - we need to stop them from ripping off others. They have been banned to pull permits in Miami-Dade County until the year 2018 - go figure. There is a reason they were charged by the Attorney General - they should have been put out of busines then.

Thank you.

The last gentleman

This gentleman is exactly correct. I filed the first complain about this company in 2005. My pool is SMALLER than what it is supposed to be and the hot tub is too close to the ground and hard to get in and out of. It was suppose to be made higher up so that access is easier ( my husband is handicap). They TORE UP my yard and left a HUGE sand pile in the back. I have begged and pleaded for them to just fix their error, and they have refused, I even wound up cutting down 6 trees they sprayed their gunite on. You have to be very careful with this company as they just don't care. Customer service means nothing to them and they call their customers "f'ing pains in the a**) on their cells, (yep we heard Rocky say it!). i highly advise to not use them......

My Name is Leo Florin the person mentioned in this article. In Response to this thread posted we have done everything in our power to please this customer. In an attempt to do so there are false accusation being made about our company.

1. We didn't switch any pools on him at the time of the contract. If fact we gave him a bigger pool than the original pool that they had been quoted with the same size spa.
2. My boss also approved an extra foot to the right rear of the property just so that they customer could convieniently get by to his spa.

I regret that even before we started this pool that this customer went on a website and made false statements that were not true with I ever recieveing a phone call. These accusations are not true and therefore should not be considered. This customer got exactly what he paid for and one extra foot on the right rear of the proerty.
We stand by our name and for 19 years have been doing so. Our reputation speaks for itself.
