My wife and I went to this Kia dealership looking for a better vehicle than my 94 Nissan Altima. We had never been car shopping before. I liked the Spectra5, but didn't think we could afford it.

To make a long story short, we put $5000 down, traded a car for $1000, and there were factory rebates on the car for $1000. We left there owing $15000 on the car. This car RETAILS for just under $16000. By the time I took a closer look at the paperwork, it was too late.

They took advantage of the fact that we were inexperienced and young, and added mysterious dealership fees, protection plans, and warranties that we were never given a choice on. Total cost to us, including interest, approaches $25000! That is almost $10000 out of our pocket, and into theirs.

I complained, and they promised me cruise control. When I went to get it installed, they made me talk to 4 different people before they would do it. The service department was rude. When I picked up my car, they hadn't installed factory cruise, but a cheap aftermarket cruise screwed into the steering column. The car has made a weird noise ever since.

They are guilty of the "Market Adjustment" Scam, poor service, and worst, they took advantage of my wife and I with no hesitation. I have heard from various sources that my experience was not unusual, at all. Apparently Champion Kia has quite a reputation, but not enough of one to keep them from ripping other people off. Cars should be sold for what they are worth, regardless of the buyer.
