Champion Mortgage bought our loan from Generation Mortgage. We are required to pay our taxes, keep current Home insurance and live in our home. We have met all requirements and play by the rules. However we received a notice that we didn't have Home owners insurance and that we should send proof of coverage. We did as requested and have had several coversations with Champion Mortgage in regards to the matter. Months later we  received a letter stating that we owe for a Isurance policy that Champion has taken out because we have no proof of insurance coverage. We have proof of insurance and have never let our policy lapse. We have sent them proof and also proof has been sent from our Insurance Company. They seem to lose information so that they can threaten you with a foreclosure. Now Champion Mortgage is requesting for us to pay for their mistake or this may go into a foreclosure action. How can a Company like this be allowed to stay in business. I have read many complaints against this Company by using google and also this

Champion Mortgage threats

#3Author of original report

Champion Mortgage has sent us another threatening letter of possible foreclosure if we don’t pay their Insurance policy in the amount of $1,639.00 that was taken out on our already covered home. Champion is demanding that  we enroll in a Re-payment plan with the first payment due 4/21/2014

The problem with these rocket scientists is that they don’t seem to get that our address was changed over two years ago with the updating of 911 services in our area. I have contacted Champion Mortgage of these changes and have discussed this issue with them in great detail. They would for the most part say, "oh, okay....everything is fine.

Our old address was Cedar Ln, Fairburn, Ga30213; our new address is Jewel Bluff, Fayetteville, Ga30214. It seems odd that the previous letters would show both our old and new address on them, until now. They seem to have left the old address off of the threatening letters.

My wife and I both have heart and serious health issues and don't need to endure this kind of harassment and threatening letters in our last remaining years. We reall dont need this.

I have filed a complaint with our Governor's office and also with the Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau back on March 19, 2014. We are waiting to hear back from them.

I would love to sue the pants off of this crooked Company and who knows; maybe we can get our house back free and clear. Wouldn't that be something?

Thanks for any help that you can give us and also Thanks! for your response. Nice to know that they are still some decent folks left in this World.

Champion Mortgage violated your rights!

#3Consumer Suggestion

Hello Dee,

I routinely look for posts to answer in hopes that it will not only bring optimism to those homeowners and borrowers in distress but also some basic information to assist in fighting the banks that are "too big to fail" but yet don't appreciate the bailout that we provided in their time of need.  The debt collectors like Champion, Ocwen and Nationstar are simply just scumbags but they can be beat at their own game too just like the big banks can be defeated.  We do a daily radio show called "the daily complaint" via "The Debt Show" for consumers like you to highlight abuses and for us to provide a path to the desired solution.

After reading your complaint levied against Champion Mortgage, I have some basic information that will put you on the path to holding Champion accountable for their actions as well as forcing them to correct the mistakes made on your file in a timely manner.  If you have further questions, you can find our contact info at ConsultingEND dot com or you can contact me directly via email and we would be happy to discuss your options at no charge to you...we will even call Champion for you for free.

With regard to your complaint, Champion Mortgage violated your rights afforded to you by the Dodd-Frank Act enforced by the CFPB.  On January 10, 2014, the CFPB implemented stronger protections for struggling borrowers via the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (and ultimately RESPA) to include greater transparencey in force-placed insurance and "no surprises" as follows:

  • Champion Mortgage must provide more transparency in this process, including advance notice and pricing infromation before charging you for force-placed insurance.
  • Champion Mortgage must have a reasonable basisi for concluding that a borrower lacks such insuracne before purchasing a new policy
  • Champion Mortgage must terminate the force-placed insurance policy within fifteen (15) days and refund the premiums once you provide evidence that force-placed insurance was not needed

Again, you have rights and Champion Mortgage is clearly vilating those rights and they need to be held accountable for their actions as well as refund you any monies that weere collected through the force-placed insurance.  Please contact us at END Consulting for more information on how to assert your rights with Champion mortgage!
