I purchased a Char-Broil grill (model #463411512) on clearance. The box was still factory sealed and looks to have never been opened, tampered with or damaged. When I opened it and took an inventory of parts, I found that the hardware packet (nuts, bolts, etc.) was missing. I called Char-Broil and the sales rep would only assist me if I first registered the grill which means give out personal info, when/where I bought it, amount paid and other garbage.

When I told her the problem, she offered to SELL me the hardware packet for $19.99! The Char-broil website lists the hardware packet as available for $2.99. I feel since they made an error and did not package the grill properly to begin with, they should send me the hardware packet for free.  Am I being unreasonable?

I regret buying this Char-broil grill (it will me the LAST one I ever buy and judging by the poor quality of materials used in it, I will need another one in a couple of years) and I cannot return it to the store as it was on clearance.
I strongly recommend to anyone reading this to NOT buy this brand of grill and buy one from a company that
1.) knows how to package their wares correctly and
2.) takes care of customers that are victims of their company errors.

Char-Broil does neither.
