I purchased a Char-broil grill. I had a familiy get together, purchased about $180.00 worth of steaks, chops, veal, chicken, etc, to cook for that day. The childern started eating their hot dogs and burgers and the rest of the food was almost off the grill when we noticed black material all over the food. I check the grill and the paint off the grill was chipping off onto the fod. This was the second or third time I have used this grill. Needless to say, the food was ruined, no one wanted to eat it so we order pizza. I contact Charbroil the next day.

I explain to them my situation and they ask me to send them pictures. I send them several pictures of the grill and paint chips. I receive a response stating the FDA states the paint used for their grill grates are not harmful if consumed. Charbroil will not refund you any money for food ruined due to a manufacturers defect. Thats it! No offer for a replacment part, no offer for anything. In the meantime of char-broils slow response, I purchased anoher grill and told char-broil I wanted a refund and I would ship them this grill back. They declined. I then contacted the better business bureau and what a crock they are. They closed the case with no resolution. The mother of the child has chosen to seek an attorney becase her child will no longer eat food off of a grill. Char-broil advised me to do the sma. So now I am out $150.00 I am speaking with CEO's of walmart, and Home Depot with copies of the letters to get this product pulled from their stores.
