Charco Construction Breach of contract, fraud, theft, abandonment and poor quality workmanship. San Diego California
Owner Charles Swimmer took advantage of our good and trusting nature to rip us off. He failed to finish the project to our satisfaction. He bragged often on the quality of the work, however he had workers at our home that you can hire off the street corner her in San Diego County.
They were sloppy, noisy and stole various personal items of mine including a watch and a ring. I filed a police report but to no avail. Swimmer and his subcontractors would consistantly make excuses for poor workmanship. They had to redo several aspects of the project, because they had to not as good customer service.
We took Charles Swimmer to Small Claims Court and won a judgement on incomplete work or abandonment. During the hearing Swimmer wined to the judge on how good he was and how he had redone several aspects, well as I stated before he had to. He went on to state in 38 years in business he has never had a complaint.
When I filed a complaint with the Contractor Statre License Board, I was informed there where prior complaints against Charco Construction. In closing, I want to warn others not to do business with the man or his company. He will present himself as a friend and take advantage of your good nature.

No complaints, but... about a dozen lawsuits where Charco was named as a defendant

Well, I looked up the license information about the license for Charco Construction on the web site for the California Constractors State License Board. He is being truthful in that there is no public record of any disciplinary action against Charco's license. Hoewever, a name index search of the San Diego Superior Court cover that last 30 years did reveal about a dozen lawsuits where Charco was named as a defendant.
