Complaint Review: Charles And Cheryl Moore

Parties listed a 2001 Honda Goldwing bike for sale in the GWRRA. We were interested in the bike, called the number in the ad, Seller and owner Charles E. Moore agreed to sell the bike. We were told Charles Moore was the owner of the bike however, he was never available and all correspondence were through his wife Cheryl Moore.

When we made the offer it was on a Monday, they asked us to call them back on Thursday to discuss details. Days turned into weeks. They would not make the bike available for viewing or inspection, yet wanted a copy of drivers' license and copy of certifed funds. We asked for the VIN number to verify they actually owned the bike.

They never provided the VIN number and when we told them we would not produce the copies of our Driver's licences, they said the bike was not for sale. The explaination for the need to have a driver's license was because the banker needed to verify ID for the cashiers check. When did you need to have to verify funds for a cashiers check?
