I went to pick up my son's truck at Commonwealth Chevrolet after covered repairs (Extended Service Agreement),(Portfolio) were performed. I was told that it would cost $137.05 versus The $50.00 deductable as stated on the extended service agreement, which commonwealth motors sold my son for the sum of $1,695.00. I asked why and was told the the extended service agreement does not cover refridgerants, coolants,or fluids. I paid the amount they requested and went home.

Once I got home I found the extended service agreement and looked up what is not covered. it stated that refridgerants, coolants,or fluids are not covered unless they are for a covered repair, which they were. I went back to Commonwealth and pointed this out they made a copy as if they did not know the agreement and nothing was done.

I called the extended service agreement company and they stated " Why would we pay for coolants or fluids when Commonwealth never submitted them. I cannot prove it but it is my opinion that the extended service agreement company will not pay the inflated rates that commonwealth is charging for these items, so commonwealth charges the customer and recieves the inflated rate.

I am now going through the extended service agreement company for a reinbursment of the $80.09 which Commonwealth Chevrolet over charged me. I have already tried to contact attorney's in regards to a class action lawsuit but evidently it is not worth thier bother. If I do not get my money back from (Potfolio) I will file a claim with small claims court against Commonwealth Chevrolet

As a former employee of the company I want to let you in on a little secret. Commonwealth is self-insured. The company that carries the service contract is called Portfolio. They administer the contracts and act as the liason between the consumer and dealer to mask the fact that the DEALER is actually the one who is turning down the claim. If you only paid 1,695 for the warranty you got off cheap. Most people pay much more and never get a claim approved. If you think that they steal from customers, try being an employee.
