This started off by me receiving an email from a friend in Linked in... opportunity to do secret shopper surveys to earn $400 per assignment. My friends email was hacked... After clicking on the linked in link, I signed up also providing my mailing address. Several days later I received a package via Priority Mail from the USPS which included a check for $2900 and a one page letter explaining the first assignment. $2500 check was to buy Walmart or Ebay Gift Cards and the remaining $400 was for me. I was instructed to deposit into my bank account which I did. It cleared the morning I deposited it BUT the was reversed by the end of the day. My bank said the name of the company was legitimate but their checking account had been compromised last month. I received a text from Charles Walker who supposedly was the HR Manager for Swagbucks and he worked supposedly with Francisco Gonzalez which was his boss. As instructed I confirmed that I received the packet. Minutes afterwards, I received numerous texts from Charles Walker first by introducing himself... I went on my first assignment and Charles wanted pictures of the front and back of the gift cards AND also the redemption codes. All this i provided, and then came to find out that the check they game me was not good. Charles kept insisting that it was not a scam and in fact wanted my personal checking information and he would send me a personal check. I did not provide this and asked him to send me a real check... In the interim, I contacted Ebay and filed a report with them. They were able to quickly freeze the gift cards and are currently reviewing all the info I had provided them and hopefully they will give me my money back.
