Complaint Review: Charlie Balducci - Charlie B NYC Arts Cypher

THIS GUY CHARLIE IS THE BIGGEST CON ARTIST ALIVE HE SAYS ONE THING AND DOES ANOTHER HE DOES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ARTIST HE DOES SCREW THEM OVER HE IS FULL OF BROKEN PROMISES. HE SAYS ALL THIS STUFF ABOUT HOW HE IS GONNA HELP YOU OUT AS AN ARTIST AND HE TALK A GOOD GAME A REAL GOOD GAME BUT IM TELLING YOU ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE HE IS ON THE NEWS IN CUFFS FOR CONS HE GOT CAUGHT WITH. ANYONE WHO IS ADVOCATING FOR HIM AS A GOOD PERSON IS NOT ANOTHER PERSON ITS JUST HIM CREATING DIFFERENT ACCOUNT ON HERE AND OFFERING A REBUTTAL ON HOW HE IS SO GREAT AND WHAT HE IS DOING HAS PURPOSE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEED THE WARNINGS ABOUT THIS MAN JUST GO OVER TO HIS PLACE AND WORK WITH HIM YOU WILL SEE HOW MUCH OF A JERK HE IS AND WHAT HE REALLY IS TRYING TO DO TO YOU. TRUST ME NOBODY WOULD HATE ON HIM IF HE WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING AND FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH HIS PROMISES. HE IS A CROOK AND EVERYTHING THE GUY SAID ABOUT HIM IN THE FIRST POST IS SOOOOOOOOOO TRUE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED GO DEAL WITH HIM AND THE NYCARTSCYPHER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I used to be a dancer there, I haven't seen it all but I seen enough. Charlie B has a certain personality that is hard to describe but it was both good and negative how ever you want to view it. I think it's the NYC Arts Cypher ITSELF that depicts him as this awesome person. He really, in a sense, took good care of his dancers especially. Though he may have been pushy, and aggravating to work with some times, he always held his foot in the door, and for most of us dancers, never knew was there. 
 
-I was able to meet Ruff Riders in Sway Stadium, had cars i thought only existed in Sci-fi films.
-I, alone & Charlie, went to hot import nights in Philly, First time I ever drank the strongest energy drink.
-First time I seen Sonic the Hedgehog on an entire Honda Civic [with the rings]
-Remembering that I used to never have a place to just dance
-Saw myself doing a windmill in MTV video for the first time
-Got a job with the Yankees for 3 years, best job of my life
-Went to Beat stock for the first time
-Making-out with this fine-a*s Indian chick in this one club
-Getting head shots from one of the best photographers i know
-THE CYPHER SYNDICATE!  
-Those really tiring moments when the night was over
-When I bumped into Al Sharpton on my way in the cypher.
-When practice began and all the BBoys would show their new moves
-Charlie's CDJ's 
-Meeting Earl and playing Soul Calibur 3 for like 2 hours. [current member]
-And of course, remember repeating the same song 50 times just to get a bad a*s group routine with the crew.

 But the problem with me is that I fell for Neo's lies. Because Neo got me gigs too, good ones, but he used that to lure you into a comfort zone and then try to manipulate you, make you feel like he's bigger and better than you, like he's your master and you're his pupil. This is common in the hip hop dance culture. At the time, he kinda scared me. I try to lead dancers against Charlie in a sense of what Neo was telling me. But Neo also let me live at his home for a while too, he was like an older brother to me, they ALL felt like family to me in some ways.

 So, when I try to lead dancers against him, he kicked me out. Some dancers later realized Charlie's personality clashes with his business a lot. He's very, shall we say, in your face, whether its positive or negative. He had a powerful vision and very inspiring toward the movement of the Cypher, I think more than he actually knows it and thats the problem. Fran left because she hated Salina, I was probably the closest to Francesca, she told me everything, she genuinely cared about every single soul that stepped in the cypher. I first actually went to the Cypher because I wanted to get into the film part of the multimedia industry, Francesca tried her best to make that happen for me and her as well. As soon as both Charlie and Neo found out that I had passion for dancing, filming went right out the window as of they were concerned.

 Fran left and took me in her wing and explained the entire story. I felt like a fool. Francesca and I starting working at a bad a*s magazine company and then I never heard from her again. Overall at the time, the Cypher was a big mess of things. But we're looking at the negative side of the cypher. Because its the CYPHER that is or was the true victim here, not if charlie bangs bitches or if he is your homeboy. It was the cypher, it was the movement he supported that matters. As long as he supported it, his personal life doesn't matter to me nor it should to anyone. 

Charlie Balducci....typical wanna be goomba talks a big game. He picks on people only when he's on top. How could such a piece of crap like him possibly run a charity organization. I used to also be a part of the Cypher....back when I believed it was worth all the sh*t he talked about. Any rebuttal on here is BS made by charlie and his clann. There were so many artists at the Cypher a year and a half ago. Now everyone has left! No familiar faces, they all realized just like me that he takes advantage of everyone within arms reach. Never once did he hook me up with anything he promised. Poor Sabrina. His wife is smoking hott and he's too busy screwing around with that little 20 year old Salena.

I find the negative post about Charles Balducci and the New York Arts Cypher very amusing. It's interesting when certain people are asked to leave a situation, that they feel the need to lash out and say it was their idea anyway. Not to mention if someone stands for something fine, but to do it "anonymously" I feel is cowardly and holds no merit.

For anyone that works for the Arts Cypher, they know it is a work in progress. A work that one must be constantly focused on to help it move forward because it IS a non profit organization and money's NOT pouring in all over the place. The person who stays on top of this all when other people lose focus and drive is Charles Balducci. When one says he's only concerned about himself and he IS the founder of the Arts Cypher, then wouldn't that make the concern actually about the Arts Cypher and putting it first? To say nothing came out of the Arts Cypher when it's only been up and running a couple years is an impatient person who lacks passion about their craft.

This is the art world, and if i'm not mistaken, everyone is a little crazy in their own way. Charlie treats people who work for/with him like family, and that only becomes his downfall when people can't handle it. If he challenges one for the better of the arts and they buckle under pressure, then I don't feel they should be involved anyway because this type of world isnt for the weak of heart. I started working for the Cypher a while ago and have never once been scammed out of money that didn't go directly to my projects.

Charlie works as a free middle man for me, using his connections and hook ups and asking for nothing but time in return. Id also like to respond to the "floor cleaning" comment. For those that are not familiar with the Cypher, the floor is covered entirely in various pieces of art from a plywood event the Arts Cypher held. Each piece of wood is a different piece of art by different individuals. This is also the floor for the dancers, breakers, and events the Cypher holds. Recently I "cleaned the floors for Charlie" by touching up various nicks and cracks that have accumulated so he can put varnish down and not have to worry about them getting ruined. I did this for free.

Not because I owed Charlie anything or I felt pressured, but because he simply asked me to help since he didn't want anyones art ruined. He easily could have varnished the floor and not cared about the scratches but he chose to represent the art well. As an artist I can appreciate this so I put in my own time and effort to help him out. It's unfortunate there was no bad press concerning the Arts Cypher before this "anonymous" post, even when its been open for years, but it just shows that people are paying attention.

If its getting big enough that people are going out of their way to stake false claims and attempt to ruin reputations behind hidden alias's, then I applaud the Arts Cypher because like Charlie said "haters are your best promotion." And that makes me more then glad to be a part of it.

The nycartscypher was a dream that was made into a reality, it had its bumps in the beginning, as many businesses do, and because most dont understand the nature of nonprofit, i can honestly say that i didnt as well, using all my own money was looked at as foolish, but i still feel that it set the foundation for something grand.

Why show someone you believe in a piece of paper when u can show them your dream, it gives you way more credibility. But in all design sometimes theres a flaw, and this flaw was that not everyone can follow YOUR dreams, not everyone is real, not everyone stays motivated, not everyone wants to better themselves or anyone else, there is so much selfishness and hate in this world (but thats another story) nor do they have the comfort when they are starting up in the struggle, to volunteer their services.

As a nonprofit develops you need help! and if funding is not in place, your just a small business owner struggling to do good for the community, with your own earned money! Hoping that people can see your vision, lucky enough for me there were alot of believers but on the other side it was unfortunate that many were stuck on the fact that it was MY idea, and couldnt find it in themselves to just see it as a great idea, and go with it.

Ego has a way of deteriorating ones mind. I have a 3 foot tatoo of my organization on my back and a chain that i wear with pride, i do this because to me it is not just a business its a movement. There are other tatoos, but again, the gift and the curse is that it is MY dream.
Francesca is a great person, she had alot of drive and passion too, she was with me since the beginning.

She has made the decision to move on to what she perceives as better things and i wish her luck. The "chair" incident that anoziz mentions was not about my "GF", it was in fact about our BBOY teacher Anthony Tirado aka BBOY NEO. I had found out that neo had robbed money from the company and two new minors that had joined, i had then also found out that Neo had scammed money from many other people using MY name, i considered neo my lil bro...Fran was one of them, i did yell, i did scream, and so would anyone that cant pay their electric bill and finds out their sweet giving partner had been conned into giving money to someone who was not a positive asset to the org, but a negative liability. I then removed Neo from the organization, as i have had to do others, and he started to badmouth me, so started all the rumors and BS, haters are your best promotion!!!

Anoziz mentions the floor, yep, if u dirty it you better clean it! Anoziz mentions right there in his text, that i had them perform ALL OVER as slaves! Isnt that exposing THEIR talent? Are u a slave when u are put in front of thousands to perform? Getting up at 6am to be on the news?people would love that opportunity, but perspective is personal. I believe in people, do what i can for them..but if people dont want it within themselves, you cant give it to them...
My idea was to keep people INVOLVED MOTIVATED and FOCUSED on following their dreams.

There were so many that depended on me to carry them and when my money ran out they bounced!!! Funny thing is that all the people that have stuck around, now earn with me, that i can back up any time any place anywhere, but back to the nonprofit...We became nonprofit in late 2007 and have had amazing support and great industry professionals to work with as well as directing outreach for afterschool programs, community projects, and major events. Anoziz mentions grants well the one solitary grant we recieved thus far has given us the opportunity to purchase some equiptment and have completed several internet based podcast segments highlighting our breakers!!! Sorry Anoziz u jumped ship to early... stupid!

i have made mistakes and many sacrifices in my life, but i have learned from all, and used those experiences to sharpen my skills. Jealousy and negativity are things that i deal with everyday, and its my resolve that i feel is in place that has me now playing a positive role in the community, the future looks very promising, and i hope that people dont always believe what they read, and allow someones actions to speak louder than any words.

Jealousy and negativity are things that i deal with everyday, and its my resolve that i feel is in place that has me now playing a positive role in the community, the future looks very promising, and i hope that people dont always believe what they read, and allow someones actions to speak louder than any words.

I've been at the NYC Arts Cypher since September of 2007 and I'm kind of excited that the anniversary of working with Charlie Balducci (the owner of the NYC Arts Cypher) is around the corner. It's been a great pleasure working with him. He's done nothing but give me oppurtunities to enhance my skills as an artist. When I first started working with him I wasn't all that confident, let alone expierenced enough as an artist. But he believed in me. That alone made me want to stay focused and pefect my craft. The funny thing is I can never think of him as a boss because I will always think of him as a friend.


I'm not here to say that he's a perfect person because nobody's perfect but i can honestly say that he puts everyone else first and himself LAST! People complain about him, saying that "he doesn't care" or that "he's mean and violent person." The fact of the matter is that he's non of those things. And i'm proof of that because i'm still here.

Regarding the post about NYC ARTS CYPHER and Charlie Balducci-

My name is Marko. I am the owner of a multi media company who has worked with Charlie Balducci and the NYC ARTS CYPHER ( a NON PROFIT, positive, grassroots, community oriented ART based program). In my experiences with Charlie at the Cypher he has been a smart, creative, responsible person who has an actually interest and definitely cares about his community.

The NYC ARTS Cypher is a wonderful NON PROFIT program with a great cause of nourishing the artistic youth of Staten Island. The NYC arts cypher is run with dynamic positive energy by Charlie Balducci- a community active ,college graduate who does not profit from the program- hence the title NON PROFIT.

The actual location of the Cypher is an artists oasis with multimedia, artistic, dance and all types of talent flourishing at all times. If someone has a grudge against Charlie (who by the way is also an actor and acted on his MTV "reality" show appearance) please dont take it out against the CYPHER !!!

OK, ive been at the cypher now for two years and theres no question that Charlie B has had struggles in his business, who hasnt, especially dealing with us artists. This dude has totally started a revolution of arts and entertainment on Staten island! This article mentions dancers, well there was a dancer called Anthony Tirado aka bboy Neo that Charlie considered his little brother, i saw charlie get neo jobs, get him in the paper, and had him teachin classes, thats all fact!. After all that Bboy neo stole money from two minors for jobs that charlie set up and Neo bounced with the money. When charlie found out he asked around about Neo and found out that NEO had went around bad mouthin him and askin other people for money, he owed mad people money and used charlies name to get it. charlie cut ties with neo and neo started a hate charlie club!!! its sick that i saw this happen in front of my eyes. but it happens to charlie alot. it happens cause he actually cares too much for people and allows them too close to him and his business. this sound like a NEO cause he wasnt big enough to make money to pay anyone back, so he stuck charlie. Neo is that type of sneaky, backstabbing personality type, noone liked him. How can charlie ruin peoples lives??? thats deep, Charlie is passionate about what he does, and used all his own money to fund these projects. I dont see any one else doin that. Its funny cause charlie does get in trouble at times, hes a target from doin that MTV thing! hes too extreme, but then again the nycartscypher is extremelly brilliant, and still a baby considering the vision and future that it has. Check out these sites that i mentioned and look out for the nycartscypher.com website, you will see what this scam artist LOL has been doin with "the cities" money LOL this stuff that is bein put out is like jealous and hatin at its finest. its kind of funny, its like a prank call, noone ever uses their name cause they are cowards, but like i said haters are your best promoters....i got that from Charlie LOL
