Charter College-Wasilla, AK campus Lies, rip offs, gold diggers, SCAMS, life ruining system. Wasilla, Alaska

i have been attending the Charter College in Wasilla, AK for a while now. The staff made the school out to be the most amazing college out there; fast classes, quick programs, etc..So my Mother, a friend, and myself enrolled.

The experience started out rather fun and amazing up until I had received 5 different loans in my name in the mail, that I did not sign for. My Mother and I are American Indian and our Tribe was going to pay for our schooling but come to find out, the financial advisers we were assigned (both different people), DENIED our Indian money.

So, beings they had done this to us, my Mother and I are to pay $37,000.000 each out of our pockets for our schooling at Charter College.

Also, I had a terrible experience with religious views from one of my teachers. I am a Christian woman. My teacher is Mormon, which I have no problem with what so ever. The only thing my Mother and I did not appreciate is when it was being shoved down our throats.

When we told the teacher we did not want to attend her church, she had started to fail us in all of the classes we had her for. My Mother and myself went to the Dean and set up a meeting. Nothing was done.

Later down the road, in class one day, that very same teacher had said in front of a full classroom to me, "I think that you should have your children taken away from you and forced to have your tubes tied because you are a terrible mother for smoking cigerettes." I smoked back when I was a teenager and before I had children.

Once again, the same teacher, in front of 20 or more students raised her voice at me for test scores i received and embarrassed me completely.

Another meeting was set with the schools Dean, two teachers and a lady from enrollment. Nothing was done.

After all was said and done, the very same teacher decided that she was going to go off in the 'Nursing lab', where injections and blood draws were happening.

SCHOOL DID NOTHING.

This school, the staff, and the ways they go about things are completely disappointing.

I can comfortably say that there are only two staff members at the Wasilla Charter Campus College that care about what is going on, but they aren't "ranked" high enough to have say in anything.

Still to this day, nothing has been done to this woman, and the school is based on lies. When my Mother and I went to sign up for this school, it was 100% opposite from what they had told us. We have been taken for a lot of money, we were given loans we did not need, we had our Indian grants denied, and we have many classes on our records showing FAILED.

The worst part yet? No other colleges will accept the credits you receive at any Charter Colleges. No community colleges, state colleges, or online colleges. Nor will the United States Army. So if we are wanting to continue our schooling else where, we will have to completely start from the beginning.

All of the statements above are true.  I was privy to how much the teachers make.  They make $1,050 per mod. As far as your response, I would like to know what kind of successful education you have, being a graduate of Charter. Seeing how you might be the only person on the web that will admit to having a successful career after graduating from Charter.  OR are you just an employee getting paid to rebuttal these statements like all the others I've seen?

As far as my statement being "crap" or rumors, you are false in your assumption. But if you are a Charter graduate, I assume this is normal for you.

Thank you.

This complaint is unbelievable.  Native americans in Alaska? I am a graduate of Charter and used to live in Alaska. Natives Alaskans refer to themselves as Native Alaskans not Native Americans.  Clearly this complaint was filed by a competitor from out of state as Charter is has campuses in multiple states.  Shame on you.

First, it doesn't make since that they just wouldn't accept the funds. It's possible the tribe you were getting the funds from didn't view Charter as a qualifying institution. Just because it's "college" doens't mean anything. You realy have to read the fine print yourself and all grants, loans and scharlorships. Furthermore, you shouldn't just assume that because it's "indian money" that it will be accepted just anywhere. That's arrogent and you'll get a rude awaking. Although the only reason I see why they wouldn't is that it wasn't the college, it was the tribe. Chances are you didn't look into yourself.

From the sound of it, you were in the Medical Assisting program. As far as classes go, when you signed up, you signed a legal document to stay out of court. It's part of the admissions. You'd have to go the route of arbatration for the financials. As far as the religious thing, that can be filed in court if you can find a lawyer and I would suggest you do since you apparently don't read the fine print. However, there is a statue of limitations for time.

Being in the medical program, even if you went to UAA, if you went out of state, depending on the state or community, you would still have to re-take a test and possibly some classes. Each state is different when it comes to medical services. UAF has an option for Credit for Prior Learning. Although if the teacher failed you in the classes, it won't make any difference. What people fail to realize is that Charter is a Career College. It's meant for occupational education. It's not a "normal college" and it's not supposed to be. You really need to look at the fine print and weight out your choices first. Admissions councelors are sales people. They will hook up in.
