Charter Communications RipOff!! Fraudulent Derogatory Credit Reporting Glendale California
Charter Communications hired AFNI Collection Services to collect an account in my name. My name happens to be very common in Los Angeles county.
I have only lived here in Ca. 7 years and they put derogatory collection information for $212 on my credit for a file 9 years old!!!
After speaking with 4 different collection supervisors over 2 weeks and about 5 hours phone time later.....finally they removed it. It caused me great duress as I was applying for a new home loan at the time!!!

I'm having a hard time seeing if this is Charter or AFNI. Though I do know it is the collection agency they use, the only information Charter would have is that on the account and I doubt that Charter is the only company that uses them. It is very possible that ANFI wrongly tracked you down thinking you were the person they were looking for.
Since I don't know the exact situation, I can't say for sure.
