Complaint Review: Charter Comunications Janesville WI 608 888 800 Get Charter

I called charter communication after filling out a form online to do a self install, they told me I could not do a self install because I did not previously have an account with them. They also insisted the line was trapped. I assured then that the line was definately not trapped, lady on the phone said thats fine, because it was a new account tey needed a deposite and first months bill. Todays date is Feb, 26, 2008 at about 1p.m. they finally came out and filtered the line. Problem is I had set an appointment up with them For March, 1st 2008!!! My feeling is this, if they can have a tech come out and take five minutes to trap the line that he could have taken two minute to ring the door bell and hand me a modem. apparently this is another way for them to make another quick $50 because now they have to have a tech spend another five to ten minutes coming out to untrap the line and hand me another cable modem. All I can say is seems like a scam!!! I cancelled the appointment for the 1st, I didnt have cable before I lived here, and I will do just fine without it while I live here. If you want hi speed internet call your home service phone provider and ask them what there normal price rates are, tell them you just want DSL, and you wont have a suprise bill in the future.

Their website allowed me to sign up for a sef install and said it would only be $23, not over $70 like they said over the phone!
