I have written several people in your organization this weekend in regards to my account. I hope come Monday morning someone will be able to rectify this.

I received an auto loan from Chase in August of 2008. The interest rate seemed a little high but since I was going to refi in 12 months I wasn't worried about it. I was laid off in Dec. of 08 and was lucky to receive an offer in January with a start date of Feb. 15th. I called Chase to make them aware of the situation and asked that I be forgiven if a payment is late but that I would "NEVER" fall 40 days behind. The lady I spoke with was so awesome and helpful I felt relieved. I made a payment on my account on Jan 23rd. which put me 14 days behind. I called and said I would mail my payment when my tax return came and did just that. I mailed the payment on 2/6/2009. Which would of brought me up to date.

This Saturday on Feb 14th, my car was taken from my driveway, Illegal in Massachusetts, and not reported to the police in two hours, and I received no "Rite to Cure" from Chase, also a Massachusetts state law. On this day even though I sent in my payment it would of been 34 days late. I called Chase and she said that because someone closed my account they wouldn't be able to have accepted that payment anyway and that it will be returned to me.

Is it my fault, yes, I was behind in a payment. I know the rules and that you can take a vehicle if it is one day late. I just never thought a bank would do that to a customer without even a phone call saying, we change our mind and you need to make the payment today. I pay over $25,000 a year in Federal taxes and contributed to Chase getting monies to help people like me. I'm hoping this was a mistake and that Chase would not take the vehicle of a hard working guy who they make 18% interest off of. I was not evasive, didn't try to hide, and not answer calls. I actually called you. I understand it is business and not personal but it's going to hurt Chase and the economy if you only give people this time limit to catch up which would of happened if this guy "Bob", who is all over Google for harassing people in Massachusetts and using Illegal tactics to recover debt, wouldn't of filed a repo.

If you don't send back my check my payment account is current and the envelope will be post marked. I can even cancel that check and pay the missed payment online. When I called Chase yesterday they even said it wasn't a repo and my account was active, how is that. I had to call the police and file a stolen vehicle report, call my insurance company. The cops were very angry they were not notified in two hours or before and couldn't believe that a repo occurred for a 34 day late and said this was the first they have ever seen. She also said they would never take a customers care and it was internal policy to be 60 days out, while I know it's not a law.

I have read about people being 60-90-120 and over and still not getting repo while evading and never answering their phones. Here I was calling you to ask for a one month extension which I was given. It's obvious that this Bob guy is mad at me because I refused to deal with him a while back because he was nasty and put me down for being laid off and took this opportunity to take my car.

I just want my truck back and my loan reinstated, I do not want to cry to the media about bailouts, unfair practices, etc. If Chase wants to be a bank helping the economy then my 34 day late loan, with a check sitting at Chase before it was 30 days late should be reinstated so I can continue to honor my contract.

Thank you for your prompt response and immediate support.

This guy, "Bob", and Jeff Cintolo at the Chase Auto Finance are liars, and working with dealers to take your car back so they can make more money.
