Our Huntington Bank Mastercard was sold to Chase a few months ago. We have never missed a payment or been late on one. We have excellent credit and are in the process of buying a brand new home. Last week our Chase Mastercard bill showed our interest rate was over 29%.

My husband called and was told we had been sent a notice, he told them we never got a notice. My husband told them we'd been loyal customers and were in good standing. The man on the other end told him there was nothing he could do for us to lower the rate. Both our cars are paid for, we have no other outstanding credit card debt-NONE. We have no other debt at the present except Chase. We just sold our home and paid Chase $4,000 on the 10,000 balance. None of that seemed to matter to them.

Today we got a set of Chase checks with the offer to pay off our high end credit cards..what a joke they're our only high end credit card. Can you imagine the nerve to charge people over 29% interest overnight for no reason and then send them checks to pay off high end cards. There aren't even words to describe these Chase characters but I'm sure there's a special place in hell for them. We will be paying off this card ASAP.

ASK TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR. AS YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE NOTIFICATION, YOU MAY STILL BE ABLE TO OPT-OUT OF THE CHANGE IN TERMS OF YOUR ACCT. GRANTED, YOU WILL HAVE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT, BUT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PAY OFF THE BALANCE MUCH FASTER WITH LOWER INTEREST.
