I referred a friend for a new credit card on March 25, 2024 and was supposed to get 40,000 referral points.  The person I referred applied and was approved.  Chase is refusing to issue referral points because they say according to their terms and conditions, my account needs to be open at the time the points post, and it was not.  The card they say I referred from was closed 6 1/2 years earlier, in 2017!  There is no way I sent a referral link rom a card that was closed 6 1/2 years before I sent the referral link.  There is a feature in Chase's app that allows you to hide an account from view.  This closed account was hidden from view, so there is no way I referred from it.  I would have had to go into Account, then go into Settings, then go into Show or Hide Accounts, and click show this account to be able to get a link.  Since I am a long time Chase customer and have received referral bonuses in the past, I am aware that accounts need to be open to receive points.  There is no way I accidentally clicked Account, Settings, Show or Hide Accounts and clicked on show account just to send a referral link from a closed card.  They just don't want to issue the referral points.  So long story short, don't waste your time referring new customers to Chase because it is not worth it.
