Chase tricked me into a trial modification plan. I signed a trial modification agreement April 29,2009. My obligations were to make 3 reduced payments for 3 months. May 1st, June 1st, and final payment July 1st, 2009. Under the contract, after 3 payments they would send out the official modification before August 1st. I have complied to all their demands to try to qualify for a modification. I have heard nothing in over 3 months.

It's now August 5th, 2009. I called to see if they had mailed the modification so I knew what my new payment would be. I got the runaround, being transferred to different departments in different states. I finally got a hold of agent who told me I owed the rest of the money from the previous 3 months, and had 3 lates on my record, along with late fees! My credit was hit 3 times for paying the reduced amount which they asked me to pay, under contract!.

Shocked, I was told the reason was that I never had a modification plan with the Help for Homeowners plan, which is EXACTLY what Chase had previously told me this trial period plan was for. Now it became the Chase Temporary Modification Plan, whatever that means. Chase said I would have to start all over from scratch, submitting everything again if I wanted to try to qualify for the Help for Home owners Modification Plan.

The Trial Modification agreement that I signed stated that it was part of the Help for Homeowners plan. I believe that it was a scam by Chase to squeeze money out of me under false pretenses, as well as ruin my credit to force me out of my house. I wonder if they also scammed my government for $1000.00. The $1000.00 is what the government promised to banks if they helped home owners with a modification. I need help, because Chase has been horrible. As long as Chase is allowed to lie and get away with this garbage the American dream will be broken beyond repair.

To the writer of this post

I wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this fight.  My family and I have experienced the exact same issues with Chase, and seem to be caught up in the process.  We had this issue at the exact same time as you and have still yet to have our modificaiton resolved.

We have contacted the media, contacted our local watch-dog group, and attended a seminar from "Hope Now", but have yet to get any help.

I would like to know if you have had any resolution and if so, what did you do.

Thanks!
