On my July 2004 Statement there was a fee for $22.97 (.690 per $100) for a Payment Protector Plan that I DID NOT sign up for. I contacted Chase on 7/20/04 not only cancelling the plan, but insisting that they tell me who signed up for this and when. Guide #3 told me they would cancel the plan and I would receive my money back. I told them I wanted to know how I was signed up in the first place. Tracy Hubbard told me that the enrollment date was March 22, 2004 and that I had received a free 90 days. Once again, I insisted on knowing who/how I was signed up.

On 7/23/04 I received a letter from "Chase Plan Administrator" confirming the cancellation of my Chase Payment Protector Plan. September 1, 2004 I received a letter from S. --- (Customer Service Rep) telling me that the plan was cancelled and my account was credited for one month's fees.

Each time I called to request an explanation on how I was signed up in the first place. I was told that I was enrolled on an automated data system and that perhaps I or my husband had spoken to a representative over the phone and signed up. NOT!! We have never signed up for these ripoffs!! If it happened to my account, it happened to many more. This is part of why the company is so large. I'd love to see a class action lawsuit on this one.
