Complaint Review: CHASE VISA/MASTERCARD

CHASE Visa/Mastercard suddenly shot my interest through the roof, after years with them. Started with them initially because of bad financial situation due to surgery. Never had a single late payment in years of using them. Paid higher payments, usually $500.00, when minimum was less than $100.00.
My balance went up and down.

I called them and their first response was that I had a late payment for some other creditor on my credit report and a high debt ratio. Well, I happened to have all three of my credit reports in hand, due to watching it during a construction loan. They flat out lied!!! Not a single late payment on any of the three credit agencies. NOT ONE! And I have one other credit card that has about 15% of the possible borrowing amount on it.

When I called them back, and told them this, they changed their story and said that the corporate office just picked a bunch of people to raise rates on and I was one of them. They couldn't give me a single reason, just told me I had to have cancelled my card by a certain date and it wouldn't happen.

I can't close my account because unfortunately they tell you not to close any accounts or pay them completely off during a construction loan because it may lower your fico score, due to not enough active credit, if you can believe that nonsense. So, I won't use it, which I haven't recently anyway. I'm going to pay it off, as fast as I can, to the bare minimum and tell anyone I know or that asks what horrible business practices they do and what scum they are.

I asked the girl on the phone...why would they do this to me, when I have been a good customer and she said she didn't know they were doing it to a lot of people.
