What the h*ll is going on over at www.chat-avenue.com?

An on-line friend approached me about this guy trying to get a little girl to drink an entire bottle of cough medicine on cam, and eventually she did it. The guy is always talking about how cool it would be for someone to suicide on cam and he sends pictures of mutilated corpses to the chat. Because my friend seemed so worried about it, I thought it would be best to talk to a moderator. Huge mistake on my part; I was told by the moderator that this type of thing happens all the time, and not to mention it to anyone. I then said that I was going to talk to the "Chat-Master" and I was threatened. I was told that kids suicide in his chat all the time and he dosen't care. Then the moderator said that anyone could be made out as a pedofile. That sounded like a threat to hack my computer and upload something, if you ask me.

I sent an e-mail to the "Chat-Master" that contained screen shots of what the mod had said. I never got a reply.

What happend after that? I came back in under a random name and the guy I was complaining about was discussing the contents of the e-mail I had sent. The moderator must have read the e-mail, or intercepted it somehow.

I found another moderator from a different room who acted concerned. He told me to register on the forums and send a private message to the "Chat-Master" (I dobut there really is one at this point.) and talk to him there. I made a profile on the forums and attempted to make contact. When I tried to log in I got a message that said the server was too busy. However, I could view the forums if I didn't login.

I went back to that same guy who told me to make the forums account and asked him if he could talk to the "Chat-Master" himself. He no longer acted concerned and said that he only contacted him if it was an urgent matter.

The mods know about all this and don't care. They even try to keep it a secret.

If you mention it, they threaten you.

To this very day, I have not recived one e-mail from Chat-Avenue.

Somehow the mods know everything you e-mail to the sites owner.

They even know what you type off the chat. (They knew what I was discussing via e-mail with a friend I know in real life.)

Don't let your kids go to chat-avenue!! They advertise as being a chat for all ages but don't care if your kid dies on cam. They even approve of this, as it was made clear to me.

I finally got the forums to work and sent the Chat-Master a private message. However, I still haven't got a reply. Instead, I go into the chat and all the people involved were talking about how somebody was going to turn in their friend.

One of the chatters mentioned "They were off discussing how to kill chat fags." They were talking about me and my friend, apparently.

Here's the thing. Even if it where just a hoax, and the people involed staged it as a sick joke. I feel that you should be able to contact the sites owner, admistrators, without them going and telling everybody the contents of your e-mails.

Afterall, the chat-master may have shared my e-mail address with them? Which that is dangerous. Especially to the disturbing individuals that were discussing it.

My point is, even if it was a joke, which I dobut, what if some kid saw it and thought it was real and actually did it? What if a bunch of kids saw it and actually did it?

I began to question myself and ponder what kind of sick person would give out information like that? Why was my e-mails being discussed freely? That's when I figured that it's the Chat-Master itself who is moderating the room.

The privacy policy states that they do not request any personal information, except your e-mail address. However, it also states that any information will not be shared or sold.

Futher down the list the privacy policy says they that since the site dosen't share any personal information they don't share it with any persons or third partys. (wouldn't my e-mails have been personal information and the chatters who read them be considered third partys?)

It also says they don't store logs of chat conversations. You can go there right now and find a public log where they keep chat conversations.
