Complaint Review: Chateau Royale

If you're looking for black mold, deposit refund ripoff, noise, Chateau Royale is the place for you!

I found black mold growing on a wall on the opposite side of the shower and reported it to management.  I painted the apartment before moving out but left the mold-covered area unpainted to permit them to see where the mold was located and because black mold should not be painted over!  After moving out, I discovered they charged me for painting--apparently it was to paint the 3 sq. foot area where the mold was found.  I have to wonder if they did anything about the mold or if they simply painted it over.

Two heat exchangers were located outside my apartment and one of them was noisy and distracting.  Neighbors in the upstairs apartment made a lot of noise.  Drunk college kids on weekend made noise. 

I was told there would be no charge for carpet cleaning if I moved out a week early.  I moved out more than a week early but was still charged $75 for carpet cleaning!

I was charged $100 for "cleaning" even though I spent hours cleaning the apt. before I moved out, including scrubbing the tub/shower, cleaning the toilet, moving out the range and refrigerator and cleaning the floor under them, cleaned the fans, the inside of the refrigerator, and vacuumed the carpet!

I was charged $11 for maintenance and $20 for "common grounds".  I've read that the "common grounds" charge is for keeping the outside area clean.  WTF?  There were ALWAYS beer cans, paper cups, and other litter scattered about!
