Complaint Review: Chavis Mobile Home Transport

I hired Chavis movers, to move my mobile home from michigan to Huntington west virginia, in June of 2005, three men showed up to take my house apart, which took a full week to get half of my house apart, when they took the two halves apart., they pulled it apart with a pickup truck and my house fell off from the piers that it is set on. Which caused 14,000 dollars in damage to my home.

After three days with no one working on our home we got concerned and went to the hotel where Jimmy Chavis uncles were staying, only to find that they had checked out of the hotel. Much to our suprise they were headed back to South Carolina. I called Jimmy Chavis and he would not return my phone call, I called him at all hours of the day and night until he finally did return my calls. By this time I had found out that he does not have a license to tear down or set up mobile homes and only his father is suppost to drive the vechile listed on the insurance policy.

However it has been 8 months since my encounter with THE WHOLE CHAVIS FAMILY and the only results that I have gotten is that no matter who you talk to, this family has found ways to get around the law and keep doing whatever they want. I pray that before anyone uses this company you seriously do some research on the kind of people you are considering hiring.
Chavis charged me 9,500.00 to move my home and it still sits in the same location it started out in.
