In Dec. 2003, I made a reservation on the internet with Cheapest Deals for a hotel in Oregon. On Dec. 19, 2003, $469.10 was taken out of my checking account by Cheapest Deals using my debit card.

I arrived at the hotel in Oregon and was informed by the reservation clerk, that a company called "Nightmaker" had called to make the reservation. They faxed the hotel an authorization to charge this room to their credit card. Their credit card was declined on numerous attempts by the hotel. Also the phone number on the authorization was not a working number. Therefore, I had to pay the $469.10 again when I checked out of the hotel.

I tried to contact Cheapest Deals but none of my emails were answered. I reported this to the FBI Internet Fraud Division, and was told it would be handled by a local authority (I don't know what local authority). I have heard nothing since March, 2004.

My husband is stationed in Japan and trying to handle this from Japan is like being on another planet.

This was definately a scam...an very expensive one!!!!
