I have used cheaptickets.com for a number of years, relatively problem free. I always buy travel insurance when booking in advance.

Last night I booked two nonstop round tickets on United Airlines from Phila to Seattle for October plus a car rental. On the reservation page, I was asked if I wanted insurance, and briefly clicked on terms and conditions and skimmed them to make sure it covered highjacking and natural disasters, noticing the terms and conditions appeared to be the same as with previous bookings.

When I printed out the insurance policies, however, I discovered an appendix I had never seen before - a list of "covered suppliers". United Airlines is not a covered supplier.

I tried to cancel the reservation so I could rebook on a covered supplier, but Cheaptickets will not permit me to do so.

I think it is outrageous for them to sell insurance for non covered suppliers without some bold print notice that the supplier is not covered. I would have gladly rebooked the package - even at a higher price, had they allowed it.
