Checkmate4u.com DCSinglesnow.com CheckMate4U.Com sued in Virginia Court for Breach of Contract & misrepresentation. Bethesda, Maryland
After getting blown-off from the VA Attorney general's office of consumer affairs because this company refuse to even discuss this matter, I had no option left but to file a lawsuit in court.
After signing a contract with Checkmate4U.Com (CM4U), a matchmaking agency, on/around Nov 2010 I felt the glimmer of hope for finding that special spmeone in my life.
CM4U's complete assurance from Ms. Liz Cooper repeatedly stated that 1). There were plenty of prospective & compatible women for my background and lifestyle. I was repeatedly assured that the upcoming 2010 holiday season and I would be able
to start meeting a prospective life partner within 2-3 weeks 2) That CM4U specialized in matching security cleared personnel with compatible matches and often matches individuals from governent personnel 3) if I ever felt dissatisfied, I would be refunded 50% of the $1799 charged.
Since that only meeting in person and once the credit card had been charged for $1799, I have never spoken with ANYONE at CM4U directly vis phone despite several attempts.
No calls were ever returned and all correspondence was either via text messages or email. Match #1 was non-existent and never returned any calls. Match #2 was "too busy" to talk and never returned any calls, and Match #3 as well as two other
matches were "bait and switch" matches completely incompatible with myself in every possible characteristic.
I expressed my concerns repeatedly in the next 4 months over a complete abscence of any interested or genuine matches. I was lipserviced and cajolled repeatedly by CM4U on how big a prirority I was and how "I was going to have a great holiday season," and that CM4U was busy on "it" with my matches as "the top most priority." However, I remained unmatched on Thanksgiving, christmas, new years eve, and valentines day. All matches were either non-existent or grossly incompatibe. On March 4th 2011 I called and left a voice mail at CM4U and sent an email as well to refund me the 50% as I had not used any of the 15 dates promised under my contract. The following is the reply I recieved from CheckMate4U.Com:
" Dear Mr. <lastname>,
After careful review of your membership, contract and multiple correspondence we will not issue any monies or refund and will continue to service you per this agreement. Your email and threats of violence is prohibited. Your fraudulent remarks, accusations and conduct is something that will not be tolerated. From this point on, I will be handing your account. I suggest you review your contract, and countless correspondence and phone calls to Liz your Executive Board member. Liz has worked with you beyond what would have been expected, given the membership option you chose.

From the email reply above, CM4U clearly intendedto intimidate and thereaten me into dropping my claim or else I would risk my employment under entirely fraudulent and false accusations of "emails of threat and violence" I have NEVER threatened anyone at Checkmate4U.Com in many manner and have never included any statements even remotely associated with any violence whatsoever. I have never even spoken to anyone at CH4U once my check was cashed. All voice mails to CM4U were responded to via emails or text messages.
CM4U continues to counter-accuse me and attack my character while threatening to caonter -sue me in retaliation. I will post an update once the lawsuit is heard -- I have very litle hope the court will do anything but it will be a good test of the judicial system at least.

Ladies and Gentleman, what this CL ad is hawking is a matching service.
What they give you, however, is neglect.
How do I know? I'm currently signed up with them.
They go by dcsinglesnow.com or Checkmate.com and either way, they SUCK, and SUCK HARD. They're so disorganized, they can't even pick a name for themselves.
Yes, I was taken by their kind customer service... in the beginning.
I wanted to try something different to find the love of my life. I was willing and open to new ideas...
But, I've been with them for a year now, and how many matches have I had?

Here's how it works.
When they give you a match, if you like it, you can say; "ok, I want to try this person" and they contact the other person.
Now, the other person has the choice to write you back.
So what do you think the odds are of me getting through that process successfully with 6 matches... in the course of a YEAR?
If you guessed "Not that f***ing good" you win the billiard set with matching luggage.
Again, That's not how many people I've turned down or been turned down by to meet or talk to.
THAT'S HOW MANY WERE PRESENTED TO ME.
I was happy in the beginning. I had 3 matches the first two months...then came the neglect.
On top of that;
I've been with them for a year, but I REGULARLY go 3 months before hearing from them.
The only time I DO hear from them is when I threaten to come down to their Maryland office, while I live in NOVA.
Unfortunately, they only have some sort of shitty mock office which they use for meetings, so they're never there unless you make an appointment, and you can't make appointments anyways because they don't take your calls.
I don't even ask that much. I'd be more then happy to wait if they'd just answer my calls, respond to my emails or just f***ing check in and let me know they're DOING something. The last of the 6 matches I got only came after I demanded a refund.
...Now ....granted, matching is not a speedy process. I knew I would have to be patient when I signed up.
It takes time and effort to research and seek out an individual who might work well with another individual...
But when this company out and out does not answer phones and do not reply to my emails, I lose that patience.
The one match I finally got to speak with also said she had trouble contacting them as well.
In fact, they didn't even give her a picture of me, which I gave them 3 times on 3 separate occasions.
One occasion being when I first came into their office, and they took a d**n picture of me with their own camera.
-And they STILL lost my information. THEY DON'T CARE, so long as I was SHELLING OUT $100 A MONTH.
I've had it with them, and because they choose to ignore me, I'm going to let the rest of DC/MD/NOVA know how terrible they treat their customers.
And I'm not talking match.com pricing here, they take you for upwards of $700-$1000 at the LEAST.
This is not cheap at all.
I'm telling you people;
Use OKCupid, use Plenty of Fish, use CRAIGSLIST, just don't rely on these guys who will never write you, or pay attention to you after they take your money.
I'm tired of having to threaten them to get matches and responses. They don't even get the ones they send me right.
I even gave them options to expand my search criteria, in fact, I just told them;
"I want a blond, that's it. There, is that easy enough for you?
Just give me a d**n match, or let me know I still exist to you!"
They STILL couldn't deliver. They don't even write to say "hi" or give me dating advice or ask if I ever need to update my profile.
ALL I GET IS A SH**TY AUTOMATED FORM LETTER ON MY B-DAY. THANKS A LOT.
Ignore this terrible dating service.
It's not like "Millionaire Matchmaker" or those other glamorous shows you see on TV.
It's piss-poor customer service from an unorganized group of people who don't give a f**k.
Look, I'm reasonable. I don't expect miracles overnight. But I DO expect a company I'm paying out my a*s to COMMUNICATE with me. But you won't get the from this checkmate service.

I'll gladly give you my member number and the numbers of at least 8 people who work at this dating service, and you won't find these numbers on their website.
Why do I have so many?
Because they're unorganized and my account has been mishandled my multiple people instead of one person helping me.
Yes, instead of ONE person getting to know my needs and meeting with a board to match me, I have had emails from 8, who rotate or something, and I don't know who's giving me what.
