Checks Unlimited Rip-off misleading first time offer Colorado Springs Colorado
I came across an ad from Checks Unlimited offering new checks to "first-time" buyers at pretty good prices. Just to make sure, I went back through 10 years of checks and didn't see any from Checks Unlimited. So I placed my order by mail and received my checks.
Then, separately, I received an additional bill for $31. I called them, only to be informed I was not a first-time buyer since I had ordered from them before when their name was Current. To quote the unpleasant young lady on the phone, "didn't I check the address and see that Checks Unlimited and Current were the same?" (note - Checks Unlimited's checks only include a phone number, no address) I countered, asking her why their ad didn't say "formerly Current"? She offered to split the difference, I repeatedly offered to return the checks.
After a heated discussion lasting perhaps 10 minutes, she reluctantly agreed to get her supervisor's approval to reverse the additional charge and would send me a letter to that effect.
So far, almost eight months later, no letter. I am a buyer by profession and would consider the sales method used by Checks Unlimited to be sharp practice, bordering on fraud.

I wrote a rip off report about checks unlimited and decide to write to my Attorney General and sent in all receipts, rip off letters, copy of collection agency and etc. I recently got a check from checks unlimited for what they were trying to cheat me out of.
